Q. Did you expect to be one of the toppers of the exam?

Initially when I started my preparation, I targeted such a rank but was not expecting this much. Gradually I gained confidence and was expecting something within the top 20 but still getting AIR 2 is like a dream come true.

Q. What is your overall score?

My score in JEE (Advanced) is 312/372.

Q. How long have you been preparing? And what was your study plan like for JEE Advanced 2016?

I started my preparation in class 11. My study plan was very flexible and varied a lot according to need. I tried studying as much as possible without getting stressed.

Q. What was your score in JEE Main 2016? What was XII board marks?

In JEE Main I scored 285/360. And in class 12 boards I got 92.4%

Q. Have you taken any other exam?

Other exams I qualified include NTSE in class 10. In class 12, I also qualified KVPY with an all India rank 10. I also qualified the NSEA, NSEC and NSEP that are the first stage of Olympiads in astronomy, chemistry and physics respectively. Following this I appeared for the national level of Olympiads in these subjects where I could qualify in physics, by being in top 35, and got selected for the selection camp held in Mumbai.

Q. Which IIT are you aiming at and which stream do you wish to pursue?

I was aiming to get admitted in CSE stream in IIT Bombay for which I targeted a good rank. And now as I've achieved AIR 2, I'll be joining it.

Q. Any tips for aspirants who would be taking the exam next year?

A tip for aspirants appearing in upcoming years is to take interest in study and enjoy learning without taking any load. Focus primarily on learning the conceptual part and then practice a little to get confidence. Do not rush behind quantity, it'll give you nothing but pressure and stress. Share your problems with your parents or teachers and try to figure out a solution.

Q. Tell us about your family background?

In my family, I’ve my parents and sisters.  My father, Mr. Inder Jit, is a retired bank manager and my mother, Mrs. Savita Rani, is a housewife. Both of my elder sisters are engineers.

Q. Any future plans?

My future plan is just like my study plan, i.e. flexible. Right now in near future, as I told I'll be joining IIT Bombay. Further what I've planned is building my career in field of computer science.  Any higher studies I've not yet planned.
