It enabled the students studying in the third year of their undergraduate course to appear for the entrance test. The GATE score is valid for the next three years from the date of the result declaration.
  • Appear for more than one paper: In another change last year, students applying for GATE could opt for two subject papers from the prescribed set of combinations. Earlier, the candidates could apply to appear for only one subject. The sam will be continued this year as well.
  • All Test Papers of GATE 2022 will be objective type. The pattern of questions may include:
    • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ),

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE Exam) is an online/Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted every year for admission to postgraduate engineering (ME/MTech) and research programmes. The entrance exam is jointly conducted by either the Indian Institute for Science, Bangalore (IISC Bangalore), IIT BombayIIT DelhiIIT Guwahati, or IIT Kanpur IIT KharagpurIIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee on a rotational basis. For the last few years, the GATE exam has also been conducted for International Students from countries such as Bangladesh, Shri Lanka, Nepal, Singapore, Ethiopia, and United Arab Emirates (UAE). Students who seek to get admission in postgraduate programmes and jobs in PSUs can also take the GATE Exam.

Q:   What are the factors deciding the GATE 2025 cutoff?

A:
The GATE cutoff is the minimum mark that an aspirant needs to score to be eligible for admission to M.Tech, M.Sc. And Ph.D. courses offered at the participating institutes. There are several factors based on which the cutoff is decided. Those who will obtain the GATE cutoff will be eligible to participate in the CCMT counselling for admission to IITs, NITs, CFTIs, and COAPS for admission to IITs. Therefore, factors that determine the GATE cutoff are: The difficulty level of the GATE question paper. The number of candidates taking the paper. The total number of available seats. The marks obtained by the aspirants. Category under which the candidate is seeking admission. Check more information related to GATE 2024 Cutoff: https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/gate-exam-cutoff.

Q:   How to check the GATE Cut Off 2025?

A:
Candidates can check below the mentioned steps to download the GATE 2024 cutoff. - Visit the official website. - Enter the GATE 2024 login credentials. - The cutoff will appear on the screen. - Download and take a printout for future reference. The exam authorities consider some factors while determining the GATE cutoff marks. It is to be noted that the GATE 2024 cutoff marks will differ as per the category of the candidate and the course selected. It is necessary for every candidate to qualify for the GATE exam 2024 for admission. Know more about the GATE Cutoff 2024: https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/gate-exam-cutoff.

Q:   What is the difference between the GATE qualifying and admission cutoffs?

A:
GATE qualifying cutoff is the institute eligibility cutoff, and on the other hand, the GATE admission cutoff ensures a call for admission at IITs, NITs, IITs, and CFTIs. Check below in detail: GATE Qualifying Cutoff: It is the minimum mark a candidate must score so that he or she is eligible for admission. But this does not mean that a candidate is selected for admission. Actually, it is fixed before the announcement of GATE results. It is announced by the conducting IIT and available on GOAPS. It includes qualifying marks for each paper. Admission GATE Cutoffs: It is the final opening and closing rank score fixed by the participating institutes for the selection of candidates. It is to be noted here that meeting the admission GATE cutoff does not mean that the candidates will be selected for admission. It is fixed after the GATE result date. It is declared by the individual participating institutes and available on their respective counselling portals (CCMT/ COAP).

Why appear in GATE 2022?

  • Qualifying GATE enables students for admission to various prestigious PG programmes in IITs and IISc. Not only that but GATE scores are also used by the PSUs for various engineering-related jobs.
  • Qualifying GATE also makes students eligible for different fellowship programmes offered by renowned research centres across the country.
  • Renowned foreign universities such as Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), National University of Singapore (Singapore), Technical University of Munich (Germany) and Aachen University (Germany) accept the GATE Exam score is also helpful if students want to take admission in.
  • GATE score can be used to apply for prestigious jobs in PSUs, Central Government Organizations and in the Private Sector as well.
  • Qualifying GATE 2022 will enable students to join a state-level or a national-level university/college for pursuing higher studies. Such candidates are also entitled for a scholarship of Rs 12,400 every month until the completion of the two-year course.

Q:   Who will decide the cutoff for GATE 2025?

A:

The exam-conducting authority (IIT Roorkee) will decide the GATE cutoff 2025. It is conducted across the country jointly by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee, and the Indian Institute for Science, Bangalore (IISC Bangalore), on a rotational basis on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB-GATE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource & Development (MHRD), Government of India. The GATE cutoff will be released with the official result. Candidates who clear the GATE 2025 cutoff marks will be eligible for the counselling procedure. Candidates will be able to check their marks on the official website. A direct link will also be provided on our webpage once it is released. As we know, the cutoff for the GATE exam will be based on the number of students who appear in the examination, the difficulty level of the exam, the average marks scored by the maximum number of candidates, etc. Read more about the GATE 2025 Cutoff: https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/gate-exam-cutoff.

Q:   Will the GATE cutoff 2025 remain the same as the previous year?

A:

The authority revises the GATE cutoff every year. The GATE 2025 cutoff will be released along with the result. Although the cutoff might remain the same for two consecutive years, the conducting IIT releases a revised cutoff every year. An aspirant cannot qualify for the exam on the basis of the previous year's GATE cutoff. The number of applicants for the GATE exam varies every year. Therefore, on average, around one million students register for the exam. These students came from different educational backgrounds, like engineering, Science, and mathematics. Basically, GATE is a gateway for those candidates who want to take admission into several postgraduate programs in engineering, technology, and Science fields offered by prestigious institutes, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other universities across the country. Also secures employment in public sector undertakings that recruit candidates based on their GATE score.
