Candidates who have obtained or are pursuing their qualifying degree from countries other than India have to meet the following eligibility criteria to appear for GATE 2025:

Q: What are passing marks in GATE exam?
Passing marks in GATE exam is different for all 30 papers. The GATE qualifying mark for PSUs recruitment is also different. Candidates appearing in any GATE paper have to obtain the minimum mark in order to be declared qualified for the exam. Only qualified candidates are considered for admission to MTech/MSc/PhD programs and the MHRD scholarship. Candidates can check previous year GATE cutoff for various papers on the Shiksha page or from the GATE official website.

A candidate is expected to appear in the papers appropriate to the discipline of his or her qualifying degree. It may be noted that if any candidate has obtained a degree higher than the mentioned degree in the above eligibility table, he/she should select the minimum required degree while filling the GATE registration form.
GATE 2025 Supporting Documents
Candidates must submit the degree certificate/provisional certificate/ course completion certificate/ professional certificate/ membership certificate issued by the institute or society they are enrolled in for the degree programme.
In case a candidate is in the final year of the program, he/she has to upload a certificate from the head of the department/institute or a copy of the marks sheet for section A of AMIE. The HOD should sign this certificate with the current date.
