Q:   Which branch is best in IIT Kharagpur?

A:

The flagship courses at IIT Kharagpur are BSc, MSc and BTech. BTech's Manufacturing Science and Engineering is the best branch. Other specialisations in which BTech is provided are Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural and Food Engineering, Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and others. Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is ranked five under the Engineering category. Hence, students can choose any branch and rest assured that the education quality is the best. Apply as soon as possible as the seats are limited. Candidates must prepare well in advance for a successful admission. For this, do check the JEE Main 2023 question papers and prepare accordingly.

Q:   How to calculate GATE 2025 Score?

A:

The exam authority will calculate the GATE score by considering the raw marks secured by candidates in the GATE 2025 result. The raw marks, or actual marks, will be allotted to the candidates after evaluating the answers. The GATE score for the multi-session exam will be calculated by converting the raw marks into the normalised marks for that particular subject. The raw marks will be used for calculating the GATE score based on the qualifying marks. The scorecard will be available to qualified candidates only. Candidates should keep the soft copy of the GATE scorecard safe for future use. To check the GATE 2025 result, candidates need their enrollment ID/email ID, and password. The exam conducting authority will prepare the GATE 2025 result on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the exam Check for more detail: https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/gate-exam-results.

  • Applicants must be Indian Nationals
  • Candidates are required to score a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in undergraduate engineering programs.
  • Candidates who have passed professional exams such as AMIE (Electrical)/ AMIE (Mechanical)/ AMIE(Civil) can not apply for the ONGC recruitment through GATE 2024.
  • Candidates in the final year of BTech or BE can also appear in the exam. If such candidates get shortlisted, their recruitment will be provisional until they produce all the requisite documents by the last week of July 2024.
  • Applicants having an undergraduate degree from distance learning or part-time mode are allowed to sit for the recruitment process, provided their degree is well-recognized by the relevant statutory bodies for employment to posts and services of the Central Government.

Candidates can check the detailed eligibility for each discipline given in the table below.

Q:   What are the rules for CCMT seat allocation?

A:
The merit list for seal allocation will be prepared based on the GATE scores. There may be some cases where two or more candidates score the same marks; in such cases, the following will be considered: - In the case of the same year's GATE qualification, preference will be given to the candidate who has scored higher GATE marks out of 100. - If GATE marks are out of 100 and the year of passing GATE for two candidates is the same, then preference will be based on the All India Rank (AIR). - If the marks out of 100, years of passing the GATE and AIR are the same, then the Date of Birth will be considered. The elder candidate will be given preference. - If even the Date of Birth is the same, then the rank will be decided on the basis of random number generation. - Seat allotment is based on the Merit list and availability of seats as per filled Choices according to the Government of India (GoI) Reservation norms.
