Which are the B.Tech programmes for which the MET cutoff will be prepared?

Through MET admission process, the candidates will be able to apply for admissions into various B.Tech courses. However, the number of courses vary as per the campus. What are the determining factors of MET cutoff?

The authorities will consider various factors related to the entrance examination and admission process while preparing the MET cutoff. Some of the important factors that will be checked by the authorities are - previous years' cutoff trends, difficulty level of examination, number of candidates who have applied for admission, total number of seats available for admission, total number of candidates who qualified MET, etc.

Is the MET cutoff different for every category?

Yes. MET cutoff will be different for each and every category. It is to be noted that the MET cutoff will mostly be higher for general category and those courses and campuses that are popular and in demand. If I meet the MET cutoff, will I be guaranteed admission into that campus and course?

No, candidates will not be guaranteed admissions if they meet the MET cutoff for a certain campus and course. However, meeting the prescribed cutoff will raise their chances of securing admissions into their preferred course and campus. Various other factors will also be considered during the admissions such as seat availability, category and more. Therefore, the candidates are advised to check the previous year trends to understand the range of cutoff that needs to be secured to have a higher chance of admission.

Which are the participating institutes of MET?

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) will conduct MET to select candidates for admissions into its various campuses. The candidates will be eligible for BTech admissions into the four MET campuses - Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, Manipal University, Jaipur, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology and Manipal Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. Candidates will be able to select their preferred choice of campuses and courses for allotment during the MET counselling process.

What is the expected cutoff of MET?

MET expected cutoff can be checked by the authorities to have a general idea regarding the ranks that they will have to secure to have a higher chance of admission. Based on the previous cutoff trends, the candidates can expect the cutoff range for MIT Manipal as 583 to 35385. For SMIT Sikkim, the cutoff can range from 17622 to 35488 and for MU Jaipur, the expected MET cutoff can range from 10787 to 35584. Candidates are advised to check the previous year cutoffs carefully to know the desired rank for admission into their preferred course and campus.

How are candidates allotted through MET counselling?

Candidates will be able to check their individual MET seat allotment result online at counseling.manipal.edu. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's obtained MET rank, preferences, category and seat availability. During the MET counselling process, the candidates will have to be careful in selecting their choice of courses and campuses as it will be considered for allotment. No other mode will be used to declare the MET seat allotment results.

Where can I access the previous year MET cutoffs?

Candidates can access the previous year MET cutoffs online The round-wise MET cutoffs can be checked for reference and to know the probable ranks required to have higher chances of admission. MET cutoff varies as per the campus, course and rounds of counselling. Through the previous year MET cutoffs, the candidates will also be able to understand the admission pattern and accordingly prepare for the examination and counselling process.

How many rounds of MET counselling will be held?

As per the previous year trends, the authorities are expected to conduct five counselling rounds. Along with the five rounds of MET counselling, a intra-institute round is also expected to be held to select candidates for allotment of seats. For every round of counselling, the candidates will be able to select/edit their choices for allotment. Separate MET seat allotment results will be announced for every round.

What is the MET counselling registration process?

To participate in the MET counselling process, the candidates will have to complete the registration process before the final date. To be registered for MET counselling, the candidates will have to click on the registration link and log in using their application number and OTBS password. After checking the profile, the candidates will have to update it with the necessary information . Not much changes in the details can be made during the MET counselling registration process. Candidates will also have to select their choice of courses and campuses in the order of preference for allotment. Fresh registration and choice filling/editing will be allowed for every round of MET counselling.

When will classes commence for the MET qualified candidates?

The authorities have not yet announced the MET 2025 class commencement date for the qualified candidates. The classes can expect to start a few weeks after the counselling and allotment process commences. The candidates will be able to check the official MET 2025 class commencement date online. The authorities will make the announcement and inform the selected candidates regarding the start of classes. All selected candidates will have to report to their allotted college on the specified dates for the commencement of classes.
