AFCAT Exam Pattern 2025

According to AFCAT exam pattern, the exam comprises two papers, AFCAT and EKT. Both the papers are conducted on the same day. Candidates who are applying for the technical branch are required to give EKT along with AFCAT:

  • AFCAT is an online test and is held in two shifts
  • As per AFCAT exam pattern, the paper comprises 100 questions that candidates need to answer in 120 minutes
  • The maximum marks allotted to the test is 300
  • EKT assesses a candidate’s engineering knowledge
  • The total marks of the test are 150

AFCAT Marking Scheme

The marking scheme of AFCAT is prescribed by the examination authority. The scores of candidates are calculated based on the marking scheme. For wrong answers, one mark is deducted. AFSB or Air Force Selection Board is held for candidates qualifying the online test of AFCAT. The AFSB interview is conducted in three stages at different centres-Dehradun, Varanasi, Gandhinagar and Mysuru. At AFSB, candidates need to undergo the following tests: Stage-I: This stage comprises Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and discussion test on the first day. This is the screening stage and qualifying the test are called for subsequent rounds of AFSB. In the first stage, the documents of candidates are verified to ascertain their eligibility for the branch they have applied for. Stage 2: This stage is conducted for five days. The tests that are conducted in this stage are Psychological Tests, Group Tests, Interview and Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS). The CPSS is conducted for Flying Branch and it is a once in a lifetime test.

The minimum visual acuity required for the AFCAT exam is 6/9 each eye which can be corrected to 6/6 in each eye if the usual acuity below6/ 6 classic must be worn the corrected visual acuity should be 6/6 in the letter I and 6/18 in the worse side
