AFCAT Exam Centre 2024: Indian Air Force (IAF) will release AFCAT 2 exam centres 2024 along with the notification. The exam is scheduled to be conducted in more than 100 cities. Candidates are required to choose five test cities while filling AFCAT application form. Candidates are allotted AFCAT exam centres in the cities selected by them. The examination authority reserves the right to allot exam cities to candidates. If AFCAT exam centres selected by candidates are filled, then they are allotted to the other available centre. Q:   How can I select AFCAT exam centres?

A:
Applicants need to select the AFCAT test city while filling the application form. In the AFCAT application form, there will be field where candidates need to select the test city. Applicants can select five test cities while applying for the exam. AFCAT exam will be conducted in more than 100 cities. Given below is the process for selecting AFCAT test cities in the application form: Visit the official website of IAF Register for the exam by entering the required details Registration ID and password are generated Candidates need to fill the detailed application wherein they need to select the desired test city Candidates should select the test cities that are close to their home city Pay the desired application fee and submit the application form.

Q:   Can I change the exam centre after AFCAT admit card is released?

A:
No. You cannot change the exam centre after AFCAT admit card has been issued. You cannot take the exam at any other centre other than the one mentioned in AFCAT admit card. Candidates should carefully think before selecting AFCAT admit card in the AFCAT application form. Select only those test cities which are convenient to travel. Candidates should choose the home city as the first test city. Candidates should not choose the test city that is far off from their home. The allotment of exam city depends on the examination authority. The examination authority try to allot test city as per their preferences. However, in case of unavailability of exam centres in the test city chosen by candidates, they are allotted to the different test city. There are cases where examination authority cancels the exam centres in case the number of applicants are less.

Q:   What are the items prohibited at the AFCAT exam centre?

A:
Candidates are not allowed to carry certain items inside AFCAT exam centre. The following items are prohibited inside the exam centre premises: Blue tooth device, communication/ electronic/ digital/ wireless devices such as calculators, docupen, electronic watches with facilities of calculator, cellular phone, memory card/ stick, pager, organizer, personal digital assistant (PDA), concealed microphone or camera, earphones, radio, headset, walkman, recorder, translator, etc. Pencil-box, book, geometry box, paper, log tables, clip board, slide rule, etc. Personal items such as wristwatch/wristband, bracelets, handbags, ornaments, wallet, purse, head gear, scarf, goggles, jacket, eatables items, etc. Candidates are frisked by the exam centre officials before they are given entry to the exam centre. Candidates carrying these barred items need to deposit those at the entry. They can carry those while exiting the exam centre.

Q:   What is the dress code for AFCAT exam?

A:
AFCAT is one of the most sought-after defence exam in the country. The exam is conducted to select eligible candidates as gazetted officers in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. As it is the important defence exam in the country, therefore, the examination authority prescribes dress for candidates appearing in the exam. The guidelines related to dress code are given below: Candidates need to wear slippers/sandals with flat heels Closed footwear such as shoes is not allowed in the exam centre Clothes with large buttons are not permitted. Candidates wearing attire for religious purpose will be thoroughly frisked Candidates colour photograph will be taken during verification process. Candidates are required to put the thumb impression on the admit card in advance (at home) before proceeding to the examination centre and to sign on the same in front of the invigilators Candidates will be allowed to leave the exam hall after completion of AFCAT/EKT For rough work, A4 size sheet will be kept at each candidate's desk. Additional sheets will be provided to candidates on demand. Candidates are required to write name and particulars on the rough sheets and drop the same in the drop box/handover to the staff before leaving the exam hall.

Q:   What is the time duration of AFCAT exam?

A:
AFCAT exam is conducted for two hours whereas EKT is held for 45 minutes. There is no sectional time limit in AFCAT exam. The candidates are allowed to leave the examination hall after the completion of the exam. AFCAT exam is conducted in two shifts. Shift 1 exam is conducted from 9.45 am to 11.45 am whereas Shift 2 is held from 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm. Candidates need to answer 100 questions in AFCAT exam within two hours. Candidates can divide time among the sections according to their convenience. Candidates can learn time management by practicing previous years' question papers and mock tests. The total marks allotted to AFCAT exam are 100.

Q:   What are the dos for AFCAT exam day?

A:
Candidates need to follow the guidelines laid down by the examination authority on the day of AFCAT exam. The examination authority prescribes the exam day guidelines in terms of reporting time, shift-wise exam timings, items allowed inside the exam centre, items not allowed inside the exam centre, COVID-19 related guidelines, etc. There are dos that candidates need to follow on the day of AFCAT exam day, check below for more details: Candidates are required to report to the exam centre in batches from 07:30 am onwards (for first Shift) and 12:30 pm onwards (for second Shift) as per the time slot mentioned in the admit card Candidates are required to put only the thumb impression on the admit card in advance, before proceeding to the exam centre. Q:   What are the COVID-19 related guidelines for AFCAT exam?

A:
The following are the guidelines related to AFCAT exam: Candidates are required to follow social distancing in the exam centre There will be a gap between two seats Ropes will be put outside the exam centre such that only 20 girls and 20 boys are given entry at a time Markings will be made on the floor to ensure that candidates maintain social distancing while in the queue All candidates must fill the self-declaration form before going to the exam centre The staff will check the body temperature of the candidates using the thermal gun Candidates will have to sanitise/wash their hands before entering the examination hall Candidates carry personal hand sanitiser of 50 ml and transparent water bottle Candidates are required to sanitize their hands before and after the use of PC Candidates must drop the rough sheets in the drop boxes after displaying them to the staff.

AFCAT Application Correction

AFCAT application form correction facility is made available after the completion of registration process. Candidates are not allowed to change their exam centres. Only the details such as name, father's name, mother's name, photograph, signature, and thumb impression image can only be edited. Candidates are not required to pay any fees to edit the details.

Q:   What is AFCAT Exam Pattern?

AFCAT exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam such as number of sections, weightage of topics, time duration, total marks, marking scheme, etc. AFCAT exam is divided into online test and AFSB interview. Besides AFCAT candidates who applies for the technical branch are required to appear for the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). AFCAT test comprises different sections such as General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English . Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude test. EKT carries questions from Mechanical, Computer Science, and Electrical & Electronics. AFCAT carries a total of 100 questions whereas, EKT carries 50 questions. The total marks allotted to AFCAT are 300 whereas, EKT carries 150 marks. The duration of AFCAT exam is two hours whereas EKT is held for 45 minutes. Both AFCAT and EKT is held in online mode and the language of the question paper is English.

AFCAT admit  ard can be downloaded by logging with email ID, password, and captcha code. The admit card is released online only. There is no facility to download the admit card offline. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging with the required credentials.
