AFCAT 2024: Indian Air Force (IAF) announced AFCAT 2 2024 result on September 27, 2024. To check the result, candidates need to login with the required credentials. Based on AFCAT 2 result 2024, candidates have been selected for AFSB interview. AFCAT 2 2024 exam was conducted on August 9, 10 & 11, 2024.

According to AFCAT 2 exam analysis 2024, the overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate. The difficulty level of the General Awareness section was moderate. AFCAT cut off is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates need to secure inorder to qualify the exam. AFCAT 1 cut off 2023 was 155 out of 300. In 2022, AFCAT 1 cut off was 157 whereas it was 18 for EKT. In the same year, AFCAT 2 cut off was 157. In 2021, AFCAT 1 cut off was 165 whereas EKT cut off was 30. In 2021, AFCAT 2 cut off was 157 whereas EKT cut off was 18. In 2019, AFCAT 1 cut off was 133 whereas it was 50 for EKT. In 2020, AFCAT 2 cut off was 155 whereas EKT cut off was 40. AFCAT cut off is announced online on the official website. AFCAT cut off is common for all the categories. Candidates securing equal to or more than the cut off marks are called for the next round of selection process.

Selection in the AFCAT exam is done based on the cut off marks. Candidates securing equal to or more than the cut off marks are called for the next round of selection process. AFCAT cut off is the minimum qualifying marks which candidates need to secure inorder to qualify the exam and become eligible for the next round of selection process. AFCAT cut off is calculated out of 300 marks. EKT cut off is calculated out of 150 marks. AFCAT cut off 2022 out of 300 marks was 157 AFCAT cut off 2021 out of 300 marks was 165 AFCAT cut off 2019 out of 300 marks was 133 EKT cut off 2022 out of 150 marks was 18 EKT cut off 2021 out of 150 marks was 30 EKT cut off 2019 out of 150 marks was 50.

IAF released AFCAT 1 2024 application form on December 1, 2023. AFCAT 2 application form was released on May 30, 2024. The application fee for the exam was INR 250 which was common across all categories. Applicants could pay the application fees online. AFCAT application correction window is made available after the application process closes. Candidates can edit certain details such as their name, father's name, passport-size photograph, signature, and thumb impression.

AFCAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria 

AFCAT eligibility highlights the parameters in terms of age limit, educational qualification and nationality. AFCAT eligibility criteria is given below.

Flying Branch: Candidates should be between 20 and 24 years old. The upper age limit for candidates having a Commercial Pilot License is relaxed up to 26 years.

Q:   Will I be eligible for the AFSB interview if I did not clear the EKT cutoff in the exam but cleared the AFCAT cutoff?

A:
Yes, you will be eligible for the AFSB interview only if you have selected other Non-Technical branches such as administration, flying, etc. However, you will not be considered for the Technical Branch. If you have applied for Technical branch then you need to clear both the cutoffs for EKT and AFCAT. The selection is done based on the performance in AFCAT and EKT exams. EKT is conducted for the candidates who apply for the Technical branch. EKT cut off is calculated out of 150 marks. AFCAT cut off is calculated out off 300 marks. It is mandatory to secure the cut off marks in the exam inorder to get shortlisted. There are sectional as well as overall cut off marks.

Q:   Does AFCAT has sectional cutoff?

A:
Yes, there is sectional cut-off marks in the exam. Candidates need to secure the overall cut-off marks to get selected for AFSB Interview. Candidates securing equal to or more than the cut off marks are selected for the subsequent rounds of the selection process. Around 10,000 candidates are selected for the AFSB test based on their performance in the online test. The final selection is done based on the performance in the AFCAT and AFSB interview. To qualify the AFCAT exam, candidates need to score between 140 to 190 marks out of 300. This is considered as a good score.

Q:   What is the significance of scoring above the cutoff in AFCAT?

A:

Scoring above the cut off is esstential as it qualifies you for the next stage of the selection process, which is the AFSB interview. However, merely clearing the cutoff does not guarantee selection; a higher score can improve your chances of advancing in the merit list.

Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: The age of candidates should be between 20 and 26 years.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 with 60 per cent in Physics and Mathematics and degree/integrated post-graduation in Engineering/Technology

Or,

Cleared sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with minimum 60 per cent or equivalent in certain disciplines specified by IAF

Candidates must have passed Class 12 and completed graduation in any of the following streams with 60 per cent or equivalent from a recognized university:

AFCAT online test is divided into four sections. The question paper of AFCAT comprises a total of 100 questions. The maximum number of marks allotted for AFCAT is 300.
