Assam Police SI recruitment follows a particular exam pattern which comprises several stages. Candidates must go through the complete Assam Police SI exam pattern to have a clear idea about the recruitment process. There are several stages in the recruitment process, written exam, PET, computer proficiency test etc. To qualify the exam, candidates have to clear each stage of the Assam Police SI recruitment. Assam Police SI Written Exam

The written test will be of 100 marks and it is conducted in offline mode. Candidates have to mark their answer in the OMR sheet with a blue or black ball pen.  Let’s have a look at the important facts of Assam Police SI written exam:

  • Total time allotted for the test is 3 hours
  • There will be 100 questions and each question will carry 1 mark
  • There will be negative marking of ½ mark for each wrong answer
  • The paper will be divided into three parts:

 (i) Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension

(ii) Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India and

(iii) General Knowledge

Assam Police SI Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates, five times the number of vacancies, will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET). PET will be conducted for male and female candidates separately. This test will carry 40 marks. Find the table given below to know details of PET:

Race (1600 meters)

  • Maximum and minimum qualifying times are 450 seconds and 300 seconds respectively
  • Those who will finish in 300 seconds, will be given 20 marks. Those who will finish in 450 seconds, will be given 10 marks.

Long jump (335 cm minimum)

  • Minimum 335 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks)
  • For less than 335 cm, no marks will be awarded

Female

Race (800 meters)

  • Maximum and minimum qualifying times are 240 seconds and 160 seconds respectively
  • Those who will finish in 160 seconds, will be given 20 marks. Those who will finish in 240 seconds, will be given 10 marks.

Long jump (244 cm minimum)

  • Minimum 244 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks)
  • For less than 244 cm, no marks will be awarded

 

Assam Police SI Computer Proficiency Test

This test is divided into two parts, academic knowledge in computer (10 marks) and Field Practical or Practical test on computer (20 marks).

Assam Police SI Exam Pattern Important Facts

  • Candidates have to go through document verification and physical standard test before appearing for PET; if any candidate fails to qualify in these stages, his or her candidature will be canceled
  • The Assam Police SI final merit list will be prepared based on the aggregated marks in all stages of recruitment
  • For each category, only one merit list would be published for male and female candidates separately
  • Recruitment body will not release any waiting list of candidates
