IB ACIO Result 2024: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the final results for the Intelligence Bureau's Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) Grade-II/Executive on its official website.The link to download the result is available on the official website. Candidates can check their result status by logging with the required credentials. IB ACIO result is announced in PDF form and comprises the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Based on Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III exam and subject to qualifying the document verification process, candidates are offered the final appointment. 

IB ACIO examination is conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to fill up the vacancies for the post of Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence (IB ACIO) Grade-II.

Stages of IB ACIO result

The result of IB ACIO is declared in the following stages:

IB ACIO Tier 1 Result 

The Tier 1 exam of IB ACIO comprises objective-type MCQ-based questions divided into four parts. The test includes subjects such as Quantitative Aptitude, Logical/analytical ability, and English Language. The total marks for the test are 100. Candidates are given one hour to complete the test. For the correct answer, candidates score one mark. For the incorrect answers, ¼ marks are deducted. The scores of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. The marks obtained by candidates are normalised to call candidates for Tier-II. Candidates 10 times the number of vacancies are selected for Tier-II.

Formula for calculation of scores

Total marks in exam = Number of correct answers x 1 – Number of incorrect answers x ¼

IB ACIO Tier 2 Result 

IB ACIO Tier 2 is conducted for the qualified candidates of Tier 1. Tier 2 is a descriptive test and comprises questions on Essay, Precis, and English Comprehension. The total marks for the test are 50. Candidates qualifying the Tier 2 exam are called for an Interview. Candidates five times the number of vacancies are selected for interview.

IB ACIO Final Result 

On the basis of their combined performance in Tier 1 and Tier 2, candidates are shortlisted for the interview. The final result is prepared based on the performance of candidates in Tier 1, 2 and interview. The final selection of candidates is subject to their successful completion of document verification and medical examination.

The marking scheme of IB ACIO is given below:

  • There will be a negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer in the Tier I exam
  • For a correct answer in Tier I, candidates will get one mark
  • No marks will be awarded for un-attempted questions
