KSET Application Form 2024: Steps to Apply Online, Direct Link

The last date to apply for KSET 2024 was August 28, 2024. Candidates need to submit their KSET applications online. 

The candidates can apply for the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) through the online portal of Karnataka Exam Authority (KEA). The steps to fill out the KSET application by following the steps given below:

• Go to the official KEA website at kea.kar.nic.in
• Click on the KSET 2024 registration link 
• Register yourself through you email Id and phone on the KEA website 
• Log in to the registered account 
• Fill out the personal details, educational details
• Upload photograph and signature
• Pay the application fee 
• Submit the application form 
• Take a copy of submitted KSET application form as it will be required on the exam day 

The Karnataka Exam Authority (KEA) is responsible for releasing the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) application form. The KSET application form was released on July 30, 2024. The candidates will be able to apply for the KSET exam through the official website. No offline mode application form will be accepted by the KEA for the KSET exam. However, the candidates have to submit the KSET application form hard copy on the exam day along with the attendance sheet.

The Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) application fee differs with categories. The category wise KSET application fee is given below:

• Unreserved: INR 1000
• SC/ST/PwD: INR 700

The Karnataka Exam Authority earlier extended the last date to apply for KSET 2024. The last date to apply for KSET 2024 is August 28, and candidates can pay the application fee until August 30, 2024. To fill out the form, general category candidates, Cat-IIA, IIB, IIIA, and IIIB candidates, and other state candidates need to pay INR 1000, and Cat-I, SC, ST, PWD, and transgender candidates are required to pay INR 700.

The difficulty level of the KSET exam may vary from subject to subject and from one exam cycle to another. However, in general, the KSET exam is considered to be a moderately difficult exam that tests the candidates' knowledge, comprehension, analytical and reasoning abilities, and research aptitude. The exam consists of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is common for all candidates and tests the candidates' teaching and research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. Paper 2 consists of questions based on the subject chosen by the candidate and tests the candidates' knowledge and understanding of the subject. The exam is conducted in an online mode and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The questions are designed to test the candidates' conceptual understanding and application of the subject. The exam is conducted for a total of 300 marks, with Paper 1 carrying 100 marks and Paper 2 carrying 200 marks. Overall, the KSET exam is considered to be a challenging exam that requires thorough preparation and a clear understanding of the exam pattern and syllabus

The KSET syllabus is divided into two sections that is Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is common for all the candidates for any subject whereas the Paper 2 exam is subject specific which comprises the questions from the subject that the candidates opt to appear for the exam. Yes, it is mandatory for candidates to appear for both KSET Paper 1 and 2 to qualify for the KSET exam. The candidates have to qualify for both papers separately. Candidates who will qualify for one paper will not be considered as qualified for the KSET exam. Paper 1 consists 50 questions for 100 marks. Paper 2 consists 100 questions for 200 marks. The candidates are advised to study paper 1 as paper 2 or they will not qualify for the KSET exam.

NCERT books can be beneficial for the aspirants in the initial days of preparation, especially for paper 1. However, it will not cover all the topics in detail. Sometimes KSET exam covers a wide range from all topics and may the NCERT book will not cover the topics in depth. Therefore, the candidates are advised to go through the detailed books and other study materials. Additionally solving previous years' question papers are taking mock tests can also be helpful in preparing for the KSET exam.

The KSET exam is taken for the candidates who are interested in PhD research and teaching as Assistant professor in colleges and univeristies of India. However, there are other career opportunities other than being Assisatnt Professor or a Research Scholar. The candidates who qualified for the KSET exam can apploy for the PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) such as Indian Oil Corporlation limited (IOCL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), Oil and Natural Gas Corportaion (ONGC), etc. 

The candidates who do not want to join any PSU can take up other options like online tutor, open their own coaching centres, guest faculty, consultant, Lab Trainer, IP lead, Author, Editor, Transmission Executive, Program Executive, etc.
