KSET Application form 2024: The Karnataka Exam Authority closed the KSET 2024 application window. The last date to apply was August 28. Also, the last date to submit the KSET 2024 Application fee was August 30, 2024. The KEA released the KSET application form 2024 on the official website on July 30, 2024. Candidates need to submit their KSET applications online. To fill out the form, General category candidates, Cat-IIA, IIB, IIIA, and IIIB candidates and other states candidates need to pay INR 1000, and Cat-I, SC, ST, PWD and transgender candidates are required to pay INR 700. The payment was made through online mode only. The KSET Centre, University of Mysore conducts the KSET 2024 exam to determine the eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor.

How to Fill KSET Application Form 2024?

Candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps to successfully fill and submit the KSET 2024 online form:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Karnataka State Eligibility Test and click on the application form link/tab.

Step 2: Register for KSET 2024 on the official website by providing the correct email ID and password.

Step 3: Fill the KSET application form by providing information such as personal details, educational details, contact details and KSET exam details. “While mentioning their educational qualification they should mention their PG course as Passed or appearing as the case may be”, informs the official website.

Step 4: Upload scanned images of photograph and signature in JPG format as per the below-mentioned specifications:

Candidates belonging to reserved categories also need to upload the relevant category certificate.

Step 5: Pay the KSET application fee 2024 via SBI e-challan or through online mode using debit card/credit card/net banking or by State Bank Buddy e-Wallet payment. Remember, the application fee submitted by any other mode such as Money Order/ Demand draft / IPO, etc., will not be accepted. The fee is as follows

Note: Candidates who submit late applications during will have to pay a late fee of INR 250 in addition to the fees mentioned above.

Q:   What is the difficulty level KSET exam?

A:

The difficulty level of the KSET exam may vary from subject to subject and from one exam cycle to another. However, in general, the KSET exam is considered to be a moderately difficult exam that tests the candidates' knowledge, comprehension, analytical and reasoning abilities, and research aptitude. The exam consists of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is common for all candidates and tests the candidates' teaching and research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. Paper 2 consists of questions based on the subject chosen by the candidate and tests the candidates' knowledge and understanding of the subject. The exam is conducted in an online mode and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The questions are designed to test the candidates' conceptual understanding and application of the subject. The exam is conducted for a total of 300 marks, with Paper 1 carrying 100 marks and Paper 2 carrying 200 marks. Submission of KSET 2024 application form hard copy

It may be noted that candidates must submit the hard copy of the filled application form along with the attendance slip to the respective Nodal Centers after two working days of paying the application fee. Candidates need to submit the printout of these three sheets of the KSET application form 2024:

  • Application form: to be submitted to the Nodal centre chosen by the candidate.
  • Attendance slips: to be submitted to the Nodal centre chosen by the candidate.
  • Admit card: to be retained by candidates.

Q:   Is it mandatory to appear for both papers of KSET exam?

A:

Yes, it is mandatory for candidates to appear for both KSET Paper 1 and 2 to qualify for the KSET exam. The candidates have to qualify for both papers separately. Candidates who will qualify for one paper will not be considered as qualified for the KSET exam. Paper 1 consists 50 questions for 100 marks. Paper 2 consists 100 questions for 200 marks. The candidates are advised to study paper 1 as paper 2 or they will not qualify for the KSET exam.

Q:   Are NCERT books sufficient for the preparation of KSET exam?

A:

NCERT books can be beneficial for the aspirants in the initial days of preparation, especially for paper 1. However, it will not cover all the topics in detail. Sometimes KSET exam covers a wide range from all topics and may the NCERT book will not cover the topics in depth. Therefore, the candidates are advised to go through the detailed books and other study materials. Additionally solving previous years' question papers are taking mock tests can also be helpful in preparing for the KSET exam.

Q:   What is the scope after qualifying KSET exam?

A:

The KSET exam is taken for the candidates who are interested in PhD research and teaching as Assistant professor in colleges and univeristies of India. However, there are other career opportunities other than being Assisatnt Professor or a Research Scholar. The candidates who qualified for the KSET exam can apploy for the PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) such as Indian Oil Corporlation limited (IOCL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), Oil and Natural Gas Corportaion (ONGC), etc. 

The candidates who do not want to join any PSU can take up other options like online tutor, open their own coaching centres, guest faculty, consultant, Lab Trainer, IP lead, Author, Editor, Transmission Executive, Program Executive, etc. 

For conclusion we can say that the candidates qualifying for the KSET exam can take up any job they want or start their ow business after clearing one of the most the toughest exams in India.

Q:   What is the criteria for qualifying KSET exam?

A:
The criteria for qualifying the KSET exam are as follows: a) Minimum marks: Candidates need to secure the minimum qualifying marks in both paper 1 and paper 2 to qualify for the exam. General category candidates must score 40 per cent aggregate marks in both papers. OBC NCL, SC, ST, and PWD category candidates have to secure 35 per cent aggregate marks in both papers b) Top 6% of candidates: In addition to the above criteria, the top 6% of candidates who appear for both papers and score the minimum qualifying marks will be declared NET qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only. It is important to note that the KSET exam is conducted for two different purposes: to determine the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professorship and PhD. T Candidates who qualify the KSET exam become eligible for Assistant Professorship in Karnataka universities and colleges.

You first and foremost thing must follow is getting down the Syllabus of the KSET examination. Another important get the pattern of the exam, so that you can yourself choose the subjects wise and divide them into the toughest and easier part. So that you can first try to cover the toughest part and anyways you can easily complete the easier part schedule with in even less time. Before going for the examination you can revise the syllabus you gathered. Also, another important factor is time management, based on which you can divide the sections in the pattern and there by proceed further according to that.
