RBI Assistant Exam Pattern 2024: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) formulates the RBI Assistant exam pattern. The exam pattern of RBI Assistant 2024 highlights the overall structure of the exam such as total marks, marking scheme, normalisation process, exam timings, etc. RBI Assistant exam pattern is such that it comprises online tests (Prelims and Mains exams) followed by a Language Proficiency Test. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature and the marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final selection.

RBI Assistant exam is conducted every year by the Reserve Bank of India. RBI Assistant exam is conducted to select candidates for the post of Assistants in RBI. The age of candidates applying for the exam should be between 20 and 28 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit is given to candidates belonging to the reserved categories. Any graduate candidates with 50 per cent can apply for RBI Assistant exam. Candidates should be proficient in the local language of the state they are applying. The selection process of RBI Assistant comprises prelims exam, Mains exam and local language test.

Language Proficiency Test

Candidates provisionally shortlisted from the mains exam have to undergo the LPT. The test is conducted in the Official/Local Language of the state. Candidates who are not proficient in the local language are disqualified. The office-wise local languages are given below:

RBI Assistant Language Proficiency Test evaluates a candidate's proficiency in the local language. The language proficiency test is a qualifying examination that assesses a candidate's proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the official language of the state for which they are applying. RBI Assistant Marking Scheme

RBI Assistant marking scheme for prelims and mains exams is given below:

  • For every correct answer, candidates score one mark
  • There are also RBI Assistant negative marking for incorrect answers, 0.25 marks are deducted
  • There is no weightage for LPT. Candidates must be able to speak, write and understand the local language of the state they have applied for. Candidates need to qualify the LPT or else they are not considered for the recruitment exam

RBI Assistant Negative Marking 

The scores obtained by candidates in the RBI Assistant exam are calculated after deducting the penalty for wrong answers. According to RBI Assistant negative marking, 1/4 marks are deducted for wrong answers in the exam. Therefore, candidates are advised to mark the answers carefully to avoid getting negative marks.

Q:   Are the marks of RBI Assistant preliminary exam taken into consideration for final selection of candidates?

A:
The final selection of candidates for RBI Assistant is done based on the marks of the Mains exam provided they qualify Language Proficiency Test (LPT), medical fitness test, document verification, and biometric data. The final selection of candidates is done based on the marks obtained in the Mains exam. The marks of the prelims exam are not counted for the merit list. Candidates should also qualify the language proficiency test.

Q:   What is the in-hand salary of RBI Assistant?

A:
RBI offers a lucrative salary to its employees. As a result of which, a large number of aspirants apply for the exam. The basic salary of RBI Assistant is INR 20,700 per month. The pay scale is INR 20700-1200 (3)-24300- 1440 (4) -30060-1920 (6)-41580-2080 (2)-45740-2370 (3)-52850- 2850-55700 (20 years). Candidates are entitled to Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance, etc., as admissible from time to time. At present, the initial monthly gross emolument for Assistants is approximately INR 45,050. The house allowance of 15 percent of pay is paid to employees.
