REET Exam Pattern 2024: The RBSE has made a few changes in the REET exam pattern this year. In the REET February 2025 exam, each question will have five options instead of four. Moreover, there will be negative marking in the exam for each question left unanswered. Check the complete details below. The REET exam comprises two papers - Level 1 and Level 2. The REET Level 1 exam is for primary teachers who want to teach Classes 1 to 5 and REET Level 2 exam is for upper primary teachers who wish to teach Classes 6 to 8. The REET exam pattern differs for both level papers.Â
The REET Paper 1 or Level 1 includes Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies subjects and REET Level 2 or Paper 2 includes Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II and Mathematics and Science or Social Studies subjects. The Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (RTET) or Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers, REET 2024 is conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates for teaching jobs in the state. Changes in REET 2024 Exam Pattern: OMR Sheet & Marking
REET OMR Sheet 2024 to Have Five Options
In the REET OMR sheet, there will be five answer options instead of four. In case a candidate chooses not to answer a particular question, it is mandatory for him or her to fill the fifth option.
Negative Marking in REET 2024
As per the revised REET paper pattern, if a candidate does not want to answer a particular question, he or she must fill in the fifth option. If failing to do so, there will be a negative mark of 1/3 mark for each unanswered question.

REET Exam Pattern 2024 for Level 2Â Â
- There are four sections in Paper 2 - Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Science & Mathematics, or Social Science.
- The level of the paper will be Class 12 or Graduate level.
- Candidates have to complete Paper 2 in 150 minutes or two hours and thirty minutes.

REET Main Level 1 Exam Pattern
REET level 1 exam was taken for the candidates who want to become primary teachers (classes 1 to 5) in the government school of Rajasthan. The exam pattern for REET mains level 1 has been given below:
- The Reet main level 1 exam will be conducted for 300 marks
- The time duration of the REET main exam is 150 minutes
- The total number of questions is 150 in the REET main exam and the nature of the question is MCQ typeÂ
- 1/3 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer and 2 marks will be awarded for each correct answer
REET Main Level 2Â Exam PatternÂ
The exam pattern for the REET main level 2 exam has been given below. The REET main level 2 exam is taken to recruit the upper primary teachers in the schools of Rajasthan. The candidates can go through the REET main exam pattern below:
- REET main level 2 exam is conducted for 300 marksÂ
- REET main level 2 exam has a negative marking scheme. The candidates will be awarded +2 marks for each correct answer and 1/3 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer

There is no negative marking for incorrect answers in the REET exam, candidates should attempt as many questions as they can.
REET Qualifying Marks 2024

REET Certificate Weightage
The weightage of the REET certificate has been revised for the recruitment of Level 1 and Level 2. It has been decided that the ratio of the weightage of scores in the REET exam to scores in graduation and boards will be 9:1. Earlier, the weightage of the certificate for the REET exam was 7:1.Â

Yes, the REET 2022 certificate is eligible to appear in the REET 2025 examination. REET certificate is issued valid for a period of three years, from the date when the results were declared. So the REET 2022 certificate should be valid till further REET examinations till the date of REET 2025 exam.

Please note that in the REET exam, the candidate needs to score more than the qualifying marks as decided by the authority, to be eligible for further processes. The Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers is one of the toughest exams to qualify in the state.
