The REET is conducted in two phases: Level 1 (for classes 1 to 5) and Level 2 (for classes 6 to 8). The exam pattern for both levels is slightly different. Here are the details of the REET exam pattern: a) Level 1 Exam Pattern: - The exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. - Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to teach classes 1 to 5. - The exam is conducted for a total of 150 marks. - The duration of the exam is 2.5 hours. - The paper consists of five sections: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I Hindi English Sanskrit, Urdu, Sindhi, Punjabi, and Gujarati), Language II Hindi English Sanskrit, Urdu, Sindhi, Punjabi, and Gujarati), Maths and Environmental Studies. - Each section consists of 30 questions, and each question carries one mark. - There is no negative marking in the exam. B) Level 2 Exam Pattern: - Paper 2 is for candidates who wish to teach classes 6 to 8. - The exam is conducted for a total of 150 marks. - The duration of the exam is 2.5 hours. - The paper consists of four sections: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I Hindi English Sanskrit, Urdu, Sindhi, Punjabi, and Gujarati), Language II, Maths and Science or Social Studies.
