RRB NTPC Cutoff 2024: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) release RRB NTPC cut off for different stages of recruitment such as CBT 1, CBT 2, Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable), and final selection. The cut off of RRB NTPC 2024 will be released separately for different categories and posts in a PDF form. Usually, the cut off marks are made available along with the RRB NTPC result. Besides the RRB NTPC 2024 cut off, candidates will also have to secure the qualifying marks as per their categories. Candidates who secure both the cut off marks and qualifying marks in RRB NTPC exam are declared qualified for each stage of the recruitment process. RRB NTPC cut off is the minimum qualifying that candidates need to secure inorder to qualify the exam and become eligible for the next round of selection process. The examination authority releases both sectional and overall cut off marks. The cut off marks are released category-wise and state-wise. Candidates securing equal to or more than the cut off marks are selected for the next round of selection.

Yes, there is a minimum qualifying cut off in RRB NTPC exam. The minimum qualifying marks for CBT 1 and 2 for General, EWS categories is 40 per cent, for OBC and SC is 30 per cent and for ST category is 25 per cent. In CBAT, candidates are required to secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks. Besides, cut off marks, candidates are also required to secure the qualifying marks as per their categories. The Computer-Based Aptitude Test is conducted for Station Master and Traffic Assistant while Typing Skill Test is held for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper. The shortlisting for Skill Tests such as the Computer-based Aptitude Test and Typing Skill Test is done 8 times the number of vacancies based on the merit of second stage CBT. The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This applies to all candidates irrespective of community or category and no relaxation in the minimum T- Score is permissible. The CBAT will have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi There will be no negative marking in CBAT. Merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in CBAT.

Q: What are the different stages of RRB NTPC Cut off?
The cut off of RRB NTPC is released for the following stages:
RRB NTPC Cut off for CBT 1
RRB NTPC CBT 1 cut off is released based on the marks scored in General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The cutoff for CBT 1 is calculated out of 100 marks.
RRB NTPC Cut off for CBT 2
RRB NTPC CBT 2 cut off is calculated out of 120 marks. Candidates who will secure RRB NTPC Cut off in CBT 2 are shortlisted for document verification, Typing Skill Test/Computer-based Aptitude Test (CBAT) (As per the posts).
RRB NTPC Cut off for CBAT
This stage is conducted for Station Master (SM)/Traffic Assistant (TA) posts. Candidates eight times the number of vacancies based on their performance in CBT 2 are shortlisted for this stage. The qualifying marks prescribed for this stage are 42 which candidates need to secure in each test battery. To shortlist candidates for document verification, the examination authority will fix the cut-off marks for this stage.
RRB NTPC Cut off for Typing Skill Test (TST)
The typing skill test is conducted for Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper, Typing Skill Test (TST) posts. To qualify for this stage, candidates need to secure the cutoff marks.
RRB NTPC Cut off for Document Verification
Candidates are called for document verification based on their performance in CBT 2 and CBAT/TST (as per the posts). The examination authority decides RRB NTPC Cut off marks to call candidates for document verification. Candidates clearing the document verification are called for Medical Fitness Test.
RRB NTPC Result
RRB NTPC result is declared online on the official websites of RRBs. The result is made available in PDF format and comprises the roll numbers of qualified candidates. The scorecard is made available along with the result and candidates can download it by logging with the user ID and password.

RRB NTPC cut off is calculated based on the normalised scores. This process is followed to adjust the difficulty level of questions since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions. The scores are normalised using the equi-percentile method. For eg: If the negative marking is 1/3 and candidates have answered 80 questions, out of which 12 were wrong, then the raw score will be 80-12-12 * (1/3) = 64. Therefore, 64 is the raw score.
