RRB NTPC exam is conducted to select eligible candidates for various non-technical level posts in Indian Railways. The educational qualification is prescribed by RRBs for undergraduate and graduate posts. RRB NTPC 2024 Application Form

RRB NTPC 2024 application form was released online on September 14, 2024. The application fee can be paid online and offline. The application fee for all candidates except the fee concession categories is INR 500 whereas it is INR 250 for PwBD/Female/Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class. The application fee is refunded after candidates appear for the CBT exam. Candidates belonging to SC / ST/ ExSM/ PwBD/ Female/ Minority/EBC/Transgender categories are entitled to get a full refund of their examination fees, which is INR 250. Candidates belonging to General/EWS/OBC categories receive a partial refund of their examination fees, which is INR 400 after deducting the bank charges. Q:   How normalisation affects RRB NTPC cut off?

A:

RRB NTPC cut off is calculated based on the normalised scores. This process is followed to adjust the difficulty level of questions since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions. The scores are normalised using the equi-percentile method. For eg: If the negative marking is 1/3 and candidates have answered 80 questions, out of which 12 were wrong, then the raw score will be 80-12-12 * (1/3) = 64. Therefore, 64 is the raw score.

Q:   What are the factors that determines RRB NTPC cut off?

A:

RRB NTPC cut off is calculated based on the following factors:

  • The number of candidates appearing in the exam plays a major role in deciding the cutoff marks. If the number of candidates appearing in the exam is high, then the cutoff increases
  • The difficulty level of the exam is another determining factor for RRB NTPC cutoff marks evaluation. If the exam is difficult, then the cutoff is low
  • The number of vacancies decides the zone-wise cutoff marks. If the number of vacancies in a particular zone of RRB is more, then the cutoff marks are low

Q:   What is RRB NTPC Salary?

A:
RRB NTPC salary is different for different posts. The starting basic salary for undergraduate posts ranges between INR 19,900 to 21,700. RRB NTPC salary for graduate posts ranges between INR 25,500 to 35,400. RRB NTPC salary for Commercial cum Ticket Clerk is INR 21,700. RRB NTPC salary for Junior Clerk cum Typist is INR 19,900. RRB NTPC salary for Station Master is INR 35,400. The salary offered to the Commercial Apprentice through RRB NTPC exam is INR 35,400.

RRB NTPC educational qualification for graduate-level posts is graduation from a recognised university. The educational qualification for undergraduate-level posts is Class 12 pass. The educational qualification is different for different posts.

RRB NTPC 2024 Exam Pattern

RRB NTPC exam pattern is different for different posts. RRB NTPC exam pattern highlights regarding the overall structure of the exam. As a part of the exam preparation, candidates must go through the exam pattern to know the marking scheme, total marks, time duration, etc. RRB NTPC answer keys are made available for different stages of CBTs. Important Points Related to Exam Pattern

  • There is a negative marking in RRB NTPC exam. 1/3 of the marks are deducted for wrong answers. For the correct answer, candidates score one mark
  • The minimum qualifying marks for CBT 1 and 2 for General, EWS categories is 40 per cent, for OBC and SC is 30 per cent and for ST category is 25 per cent. In CBAT, candidates are required to secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks
  • 15 times candidates are selected for CBT 2
  • Normalisation of marks is done for CBT 1, 2 and CBAT

RRB NTPC syllabus comprises subjects such as General Intelligence & Reasoning, Mathematics, and General Awareness. Before beginning with the preparation, candidates should prepare as per RRB NTPC syllabus as it helps them to understand the topics to cover under each section of the exam. RRB NTPC syllabus is given below.

General Awareness: History, Geography, Economy, Indian Polity and Governance, General Science, Current Affairs, etc.

Mathematics: Number System, Decimals, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Time and Work, Mensuration, Percentage, Elementary Statistics, etc.

General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, Mathematical Operations, Coding and Decoding, Data Sufficiency, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, etc.

RRB NTPC admit card 2024 will be released online on the official websites of 21 RRBs. The examination authority will release separate admit cards for different stages of exam four days before the exam. The city intimation slip is released 10 days before the exam. Candidates can download the city intimation slip to check the allotted exam city and make the travel plans accordingly. To download RRB NTPC admit card, candidates need to enter the required credentials. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post. RRB NTPC hall ticket is an important document without which candidates are not allowed to appear for the exam.

RRB NTPC Cut off 2024

RRB NTPC cut off 2024 will be released separately for different stages of recruitment. The cut is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates need to secure inorder to qualify the exam. Besides RRB NTPC cut off, candidates are also required to secure the qualifying marks as per their category. The minimum qualifying marks for CBT 1 and 2 for General, EWS categories is 40 per cent, for OBC and SC is 30 per cent and for ST category is 25 per cent. In CBAT, candidates are required to secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks.
