Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) revised RRB NTPC eligibility criteria 2024. The revised age limit is 18 to 36 years for Graduate posts. The revised age limit for undergraduate posts is 18 to 33 years. The educational qualification prescribed for graduate posts is graduation, whereas, it is Class 12 pass for undergraduate posts.  RRB NTPC Eligibility 2024: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have revised RRB NTPC eligibility. The revision has been done in the age limit. Candidates applying for graduate posts should be between 18 to 36 years old. Candidates applying for undergraduate posts should be aged between 18 to 33 years. The age limit of candidates will be calculated as on January 1, 2025. As per RRB NTPC educational qualification, candidates applying for undergraduate posts should have passed Class 12, while those applying for graduate-level posts should have a graduation degree from a recognised university. Besides the age limit and educational qualification, candidates must also meet the medical standards prescribed for RRB NTPC exam. 

RRB NTPC eligibility highlights nationality, age limit, educational qualification, and physical standards. To apply for RRB NTPC 2024 exam, candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria. RRB NTPC Eligibility 2024

RRB NTPC exam is conducted to select candidates for various Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) positions in the Indian Railways’ Zonal Railways and Production Units. The posts include Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice, and Station Master. Candidates must fulfil RRB NTPC eligibility laid down in terms of age limit, educational qualification and medical standards.

RRB NTPC Eligibility 2024: Nationality

Candidates applying for RRB NTPC must be:

  • An Indian citizen
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with to permanently settle in India.

RRB NTPC 2024 Age Limit

RRB NTPC test consists of two levels-graduate and undergraduate (Class 12). In RRB NTPC, there is an upper and lower age limit set by the RRB.  For the under graduate level posts, the date of birth of an applying candidate must be between the years given below:

Relaxation in the upper age limit is given to candidates belonging to different categories. RRB NTPC age relaxation for graduate and undergraduate posts is given below.

RRB NTPC Medical Standards

Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the prescribed medical standards for the posts they are applying. Candidates must be medically fit to carry on their duties and responsibilities for the applied post. Before final appointment, the medical fitness of candidates will be checked by the Railway Administration. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of railway staff. RRB NTPC Visual Standard

The post-wise visual standard of RRB NTPC is given below.

Medical Standard NTPC Eye Criteria
A2 Distance vision is 6/9 with or without glasses (no fogging test), whereas near vision is Sn = 0.6 with or without glasses. Must pass the color vision, binocular vision, night vision, and myopic vision tests.
A3 Distance vision: 6/9, with or without glasses (lens power not to exceed 2D). Near vision: Sn = 0.6, with or without glasses. Must pass the color vision, binocular vision, night vision, and myopic vision tests.
B2 Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (lens power not to exceed 4D). Near vision: Sn = 0.6, with or without glasses for reading or close work. Must pass a field of vision (binocular vision) test, among other things.
C2 Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 (with or without glasses) Near Vision: Sn: 0.6 with or without glasses for reading or close work.

RRB NTPC Typing Proficiency

Candidates must also have typing proficiency as per RRB NTPC eligibility. This is required for the positions such as Junior Clerk Cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Accounts Clerk Cum Typist, Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk Cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist, and Station Master. Candidates are required to undergo typing test in the second round of selection. 

Q:   Is there minimum qualifying marks in RRB NTPC exam?

A:

Yes, there is a minimum qualifying cut off in RRB NTPC exam. The minimum qualifying marks for CBT 1 and 2 for General, EWS categories is 40 per cent, for OBC and SC is 30 per cent and for ST category is 25 per cent. In CBAT, candidates are required to secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks. Besides, cut off marks, candidates are also required to secure the qualifying marks as per their categories. Candidates need to secure the qualifying marks in CBTs and CBAT inorder to qualify the exam. The CBT 1 comprises questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The total marks allotted to the CBT 1 are 100. The CBT 2 comprises questions from General Questions Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Total marks allotted to the test are 120.

Q:   What is the job profile of RRB NTPC Station Master?

A:
The job profile of RRB NTPC Station Master is supervising the work of assigned railway station, works as the in-charge of the assigned railway station, ensure timely arrival & departure of trains and handling the issues faced by the passengers. Total pay of Station Master is INR 54,360.

Q:   What is the qualifying marks in RRB NTPC CBAT?

A:

The Computer-Based Aptitude Test is conducted for Station Master and Traffic Assistant while Typing Skill Test is held for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper. The shortlisting for Skill Tests such as the Computer-based Aptitude Test and Typing Skill Test is done 8 times the number of vacancies based on the merit of second stage CBT. The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This applies to all candidates irrespective of community or category and no relaxation in the minimum T- Score is permissible. The CBAT will have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi There will be no negative marking in CBAT. Merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in CBAT.
