Q:   What are the important guidelines related to RRB NTPC mock test for CBAT?

The instructions related to RRB NTPC CBAT mock test are given below:

  • In the actual test the number of questions and time limit of each test may vary
  • There are a total of five tests in this Aptitude test. Before the start of every test, a screen appears which will have the test-specific instructions explaining the way to solve the test, the number of questions and also the time limit
  • Apart from this, candidates are shown examples with solutions enabling them to have a better understanding of the test for attempting the test questions. After completion of the allotted time, the instructions screen will be replaced by the main test screen to start the test
  • If you wish to go through the instructions of the test again then click on  the icon situated at the top right-hand corner of your screen
  •  After the completion of every test a rest period of one minute will be provided to you to be prepared for the next test
  •  In the main test candidates have the facility to scroll down or across for a better view of the test questions
  • Instruction screen and the main test screen will have a countdown timer at the top right-hand corner of the screen indicating the time in minutes and seconds
  • When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself
  • To select your answer, click with mouse on the button of one of the options
  • AutoSave is not enabled in this sample question paper, you have to click on save button to save the responses. However, in actual test after every click, your answer will be saved automatically
  • To deselect your chosen answer, click on the button of the chosen option again
  • To change your chosen answer, click on the button of another option.
  • Special instructions for test number three (Spatial Scanning test): In test number three of Spatial Scanning you have to answer a total of four questions based on two grids, each grid having two questions each. Here, after a set of every two questions based on a single grid you have to click on Save & Next button to save and proceed for the next set of questions. The next grid will appear only after you press Save & Next button
  • Except for test number three of Spatial Scanning, when you will take your mouse to the icon  next to main test heading displayed at the left-hand corner of the screen the question palette will be visible to you while you are attempting main test of every section
  • In test number three of Spatial Scanning, when you will take your mouse to the icon  next to main answer heading displayed at the left-hand corner of the screen the question palette will be visible to you while you are attempting the main test of this section
  • Understand the examples to do better in the test
  • Stay focused on every question of every test throughout so that you are able to gain maximum scores
  • Keep in mind the time allotted for the test and try to finish within the stipulated time
  • If you find any question difficult, don’t waste time on it. Proceed to the next question
  • In the rest period between two tests try to relax so that you are able to focus again on the next test

RRB NTPC Mock Test: Marking Scheme

To calculate the scores of the RRB NTPC mock test, candidates need to follow the marking scheme given below:

  • One mark is awarded for every correct answer
  • 1/3 marks are deducted for incorrect answers
  • The total marks are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers
  • Normalisation of marks is done to adjust the difficulty of question papers

Yes, there is a minimum qualifying cut off in RRB NTPC exam. The minimum qualifying marks for CBT 1 and 2 for General, EWS categories is 40 per cent, for OBC and SC is 30 per cent and for ST category is 25 per cent. In CBAT, candidates are required to secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks. Besides, cut off marks, candidates are also required to secure the qualifying marks as per their categories. Candidates need to secure the qualifying marks in CBTs and CBAT inorder to qualify the exam. The CBT 1 comprises questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The total marks allotted to the CBT 1 are 100. The CBT 2 comprises questions from General Questions Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Total marks allotted to the test are 120.

Q:   How to prepare for RRB NTPC typing skill tests?

The Railway Recruitment Board conducts RRB NTPC to select candidates for non-technical popular categories (NTPC) graduate and undergraduate posts in various Zonal Railways and production units of the Indian Railways. Following the qualifying written exam, the RRB NTPC Typing Test is conducted, and, according to guidelines, candidates would be required to type 300 words at a minimum speed of 30 words per minute (w. p. m.) in English or 250 words at 25 w. p. m. in Hindi on a computer within 10 minutes. However, even if a candidate fails the typing skills test, they will still be eligible for other posts depending upon their merit in the written exam.
