SSC JE Recruitment 2024: Vacancy, Eligibility, Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Process & Result

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) generally recruits for SSC JE once in a year. The recruitment process begins with the release of the notification that comprises the details of the SSC JE exam like number of vacancies, application dates, application fees, eligibility, etc. Along with the notification for the SSC JE exam, the application window for the exami is activated for the candidates to apply. Further the application correction window is activated for the candidates who want to edit their application form.

The application fee for SSC JE exam is INR 100. However, the fee is exempted for females of all categories and candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD/ ExS. The candidates can pay the SSC JE application fee through online mode. However, the SSC provides multiple modes of online payment that are given below:

• Net Banking 
• Visa Card , MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Credit or Debit card

Earlier, the SSC used to accept the application fees online and offline both but from 2023 onwards the SSC JE application fees can only be paid online. 

The SSC does not allow to re genrate roll numbers for the exam as it is based on the application that have been made by the candidate. However, the candidates can regenrate theior password for the account from which they can retreive their roll number. The steps to re generate password for teh SSC JE exam has been given below:

• Go to the official website 
• Click on the forgot password link 
• Fill in the credentials asked 
  • Permanent State 
  • Email Id/Roll Number
• The SSC will send the Email OTP or Mobile OTP
• Fill in the OTP 
• Enter Captcha 
• Enter New Password 
• Confirm Password

Once the passsword is re generated, the candidates can login into their registered account on the official website and get all the details mentioned in their application form.

The SSC JE syllabus is divided into two categories Paper 1 and Paper 2. The syllabis for the SSC JE exam has been given below:

Candidates need to prepare all the above topics from Class 11-12 level textbooks for the SSC JE exam. Regular practice of questions is important.

There is no change in the syllabus of the SSC JE exam 2024. The exam continues to have two papers- Paper 1 (Ojective type) and Paper 2 (Conventional type). Paper 1 determines the General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and General Engineering tendencies of the candidates. On the other hand, the Paper 2 tests the General Engineering of the candidates on specific engineering branch/displine-civil, mechanical and electrical.

The General Intelligence and Reasoning section of the SSC JE exam is designed to test a candidate's ability to think logically and solve problems. Here are some important topics that you should focus on while preparing for the exam:

1. Verbal Reasoning: This includes topics such as analogies, coding-decoding, series completion, syllogisms, and blood relations
2. Non-Verbal Reasoning: This includes topics such as spatial visualization, spatial orientation, figural classification, and pattern recognition

6. Data Sufficiency: This includes topics such as analyzing the given information and determining whether it is sufficient to answer the question
7. Directions: This includes topics such as finding the direction or distance between two points based on the given information.

Questions in the SSC JE exams are generally asked from four categories: Descriptive, MCQs, Subjective, and Essay. Multiple choice questions comprises 4 to 5 possible options which are nearlyall correct and the candidates have to select one of most right option. Descriptive paper comprises the questions which has to be answered in brief, whereas, on the other hand the, the subjective questions are to be answered in sort answers. The candidates are provided with a topic on which they have to write an article and justify the topic in the most possible ways in the limited words.

The candidates preparing for the SSC JE exam are advised to take as much as mock test to get an idea of the type of questions and pattern in which they have to answer the questions.

Candidates who qualify in both Paper-I and Paper-II are eligible for the next stage of the selection process, which includes document verification and medical examination.

The candidates who applies in the category of scribe have to present physical limitation certificate infront of the examniation authority approved by the Chief Medical Officer, Civil Surgeon, Medical Supritendent of Government health care instituition. No, there is no interview round in the SSC JE (Junior Engineer) exam selection process. The selection is based solely on the candidate's performance in the computer-based exam conducted by SSC. The steps in SSC JE recruitment are given below:

• Computer Based Examination: This is the main written exam conducted in online mode. It tests candidates on questions from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and Technical subjects

There is no subjective evaluation of candidates' skills, experience, communication skills etc. through a personal interview. The selection is purely based on evaluation of the computer based exam. Hence, the focus is on effectively preparing for and scoring well in the objective type test paper. Qualifying the exam cut-off is the sole criteria for selection as SSC JE.
