Q: How many times SSC JE recruitment is done in a year?
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) generally recruits for SSC JE once in a year. The recruitment process begins with the release of the notification that comprises the details of the SSC JE exam like number of vacancies, application dates, application fees, eligibility, etc. Along with the notification for the SSC JE exam, the application window for the exami is activated for the candidates to apply. Further the application correction window is activated for the candidates who want to edit their application form.
After the application process ends for the SSC JE exam, the admit card is released and the exam is conducted on a specifica date decided by the Commission. Later to these stages the SSC JE exam is conducted for Paper 1 and Paper 2. At the last stage pf the SSC JE exam, the final result and the cut off is released. The candidates qualifying for the paper 1 and paper 2 goes for the document verification round. After the clearance at dV round, the candidates are appointed as the SSC JE.

The SSC does not allow to re genrate roll numbers for the exam as it is based on the application that have been made by the candidate. Q: Is there any interview in SSC JE exam?
No, there is no interview round in the SSC JE (Junior Engineer) exam selection process. The selection is based solely on the candidate's performance in the computer-based exam conducted by SSC. The steps in SSC JE recruitment are given below:
- Computer Based Examination: This is the main written exam conducted in online mode. It tests candidates on questions from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and Technical subjects
- Document Verification: Only those who qualify the computer based exam are shortlisted for document verification. SSC checks the original documents submitted by candidates to confirm eligibility

There is no subjective evaluation of candidates' skills, experience, communication skills etc. through a personal interview. The selection is purely based on evaluation of the computer based exam. SSC JE Recruitment Stages
Candidates who plan to appear for SSC JE exam, need to understand the recruitment stages mentioned below:
SSC JE Form
Candidates first need to fill SSC JE application form on the official website of the commission – ssc.gov.in. Candidates can fill out the online form in two parts – registration and application. SSC JE application fee is INR 100. However, all women and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Ex-Servicemen (ESM) categories are exempted from the application fee.
SSC JE Admit Card (Paper 1)
The candidates require the admit card to appear in the exam. The candidates need to check the exam centre mentioned in the admit card. SSC JE admit card for paper-I will be released four days before the exam. Candidates can download their admit card from the official regional websites of the commission.
SSC JE Exam 2023
Candidates need to appear for the SSC JE exam at the allotted exam centre. SSC JE paper-I is an online test that contains 200 objective-type multiple-choice questions of 200 marks. Candidates need to complete the exam in a duration of two hours.
SSC JE Result (Paper 1)

The SSC will release the SSC JE 2024 Paper 2 answer key in an online mode tentatively in the second week of November 2024. The answer key will help candidates estimate their potential marks in the SSC JE 2024 exam. The SSC 2024 Paper 2 exam will be conducted on November 6, 2024.
