UPSC CMS 2022: Result Released, DAF Dates, Interview Schedule, Cutoff, Question Paper

CMS exam is the short name for the Combined Medical Services Exam conducted by the UPSC. The CMS exam is conducted each year to recruit doctors for the following positions:

Category I

1. Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services

Category II

1. Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways
2. Assistant Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Services 
3. General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council 
4. General Duty Medical Grade-II in East Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation, and South Delhi Municipal Corporation.

UPSC CMS Exam 2022 Highlights

UPSC CMS 2022 notification was released online on April 6, 2022. CMS notification is the most important document because all the formalities of the exam are governed according to the procedure given in the notification. It also provides important information related to the exam such as vacancies, exam dates, eligibility criteria, syllabus and exam pattern.

UPSC CMS application started with the release of the official notification. The last date to fill out the application was April 26, 2022. The candidates need to submit the appropriate application fee as prescribed for their category. 

The candidate should have an M.B.B.S degree from a recognised university. The candidates waiting for their final result or yet to appear in their final year can also apply for the CMS exam provided they need to submit the passing certificate at the time of sending the documents with the Detailed Application Form (DAF) submitted after the written result. It means that the candidates expecting their final result (after the completion of the Internship) in August/September 2022 can apply for the exam.

Age Limit for UPSC CMS Exam 2022

The candidates should not exceed 32 years of age on August 1 of the exam year.  The candidate must have been born not earlier than 2^nd August 1990. There is no lower age limit mentioned in the official UPSC CMS notification. However, for Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Subcadre of Central Health Services, the upper age limit must not exceed 35 (thirty-five years) on the aforesaid cut-off date.

After the successful submission of the application, UPSC scrutinises the applications and the selection process starts.

Step 1: The UPSC issued admit cards for the computer-based exam to all the candidates who had successfully filled out the application form.

Step 2: The UPSC conducted the CMS written exam on July 17, 2022 (Sunday).

Step 3: The candidate who clears the stage I written exam will be called for the personality test.

Step 4: The UPSC will declare the CMS final results a few days after the personality tests.

UPSC conduct the exam online at the designated exam centres across the nation. The candidates should note that the CMS exam centre is allotted on a first-apply-first-allot basis because there is a ceiling on the number of candidates at the exam centre.
