UPSC CMS applications 2022 were activated with the release of official notification. The candidates need to read the official notification to know the eligibility conditions required to be fulfilled by the candidates to apply online for the UPSC CMS exam 2022. The online applications for CMS exam 2022 were closed on April 26, 2022. Union Public Service Commission started the application withdrawal facility on May 4, 2022. The candidates were allowed to withdraw their application from May 6 to 10 (till 6 PM). UPSC CMS 2022 exam was conducted on July 17, 2022.

UPSC CMS 2022 Application: Document Required

There are certain documents and details which need to be ready before filling out the CMS application form. See below the list of documents/details required:

  • Scanned images of photographs & signature
  • Photo-identity card in PDF format
  • Bank details for online transaction
  • Mark sheet and admit card of Class 10 and 12

How to apply online for UPSC CMS Application 2022?

The UPSC CMS application has two parts. The steps to fill both the parts are given below:

UPSC CMS 2022 Application Part I

The candidates can fill out the UPSC CMS application at the official site of UPSC. The steps are given below:

  1. The candidates need to visit the official website https://upsconline.nic.in/ and click on the link, online application for various examinations of UPSC. 
  2. On clicking the link, a new page will open, choose the exam and start filling up the application form
  3. Candidates need to click on the "Click Here for Part-I" link given under Part-I registration tab. 
  4. On clicking the link, the instruction page will appear on the screen. 
  5. Read and understand the given instructions fully and click on the Yes button to proceed
  6. On clicking the button, the Combined Medical Exam application form (part-I) will appear on the screen. Part-I registration requires personal detail such as 
  • Name
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Marital status
  • Parents’ names
  • Email ID
  • Postal address
  • Educational qualification, etc.

UPSC CMS Application Fee

After filling in the personal details in part I of the UPSC CMS application form, the candidates need to submit the application fees. Please note that there is no application fee for the candidates belonging to SC and ST categories. The female candidates are also exempted from paying any exam fees.

The Application fee for the General category and candidates belonging to the OBC category is INR 200. The application fee can be deposited online or offline through the SBI Bank Challan.

Mode of Submitting Application Fee

The candidates can submit the application fee online as well as by cash. The details are given below:

Online mode: Candidates can make online payment of the UPSC CMS application fee via any credit/debit card or internet banking.

Offline mode: Candidates can choose to pay the application fee in cash. They can do so by paying cash at any branch of SBI. The candidate needs to print the system generated pay-in-slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branches on the next working day only.

Candidates must note that the ‘Pay by Cash’ mode will be deactivated one day before the application process closes. However, candidates who have generated their pay-in-slip before the process is deactivated can make the payment at any SBI branch during banking hours on the closing date. 

After paying the application fee, candidates need to click on the "Continue" button and fill in their preference for the Combined Medical Services exam centre. Thereafter, candidates need to upload their scanned photo and signature as per the specification said above.

On clicking the button, a declaration page will appear on the screen. Candidates need to click on the "I Agree" button to agree to the declaration given by UPSC. Thereafter, candidates can submit the form by clicking on the "Submit" button.

CMS Application Form Part II

  1. Candidates need to click on the "Click Here for Part II" link given on the official website of UPSC. 
  2. On clicking the link, a new page will appear wherein candidates need to enter their registration ID as well as their date of birth and click on the Submit button. 
  3. On clicking the button, the Combined Medical Services exam part-II application form will appear on the screen. 
  4. Candidates need to fill in the required details and click on the "Submit" button.
  5. On submission of part-II registration form, candidates’ CMS exam application process will be complete. 

The UPSC CMS exam date was July 17, 2022.

UPSC CMS Exam 2022 DAF

The personality test is the last stage of the UPSC CMS exam. The candidates need to fill out the Detailed Application Form (DAF) for the interview. This form is very important and required all the academic and professional details. In addition to that, it also requires the preference of the posts. This DAF is very important for the personality test because the majority of questions asked in the personality test are from it only.

Also, the official website informs, “In case of any guidance/ information/ clarification regarding their applications, candidature etc. candidates can contact UPSC’s facilitation counter near gate C of its campus in person or over telephone number 011-23385271/ 011-23381125/ 011-23098543 on working days between 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs.”
