The UP Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) conducts the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) to determine the eligibility of candidates as Classes 1 to 8 teachers in the state schools. Candidates who pass the exam qualify for the award of the UPTET eligibility certificate.

UPTET Exam Pattern 2024

UPTET Exam Pattern 2024 comprises the structure of Paper 1 and Paper 2. The UPTET Exam Pattern of Papers 1 and 2 is almost the same. Both papers comprise 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions each. Each question carries 1 mark. Candidates are allotted two hours and thirty minutes to attempt each paper. However, the only difference in the exam pattern of Paper 1 and Paper 2 is the number of sections or subjects. The UPTET Paper 1 comprises the following five sections:

Language-II (English/ Urdu/ Sanskrit)
Mathematics
Environmental Studies

The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) has not mentioned any negative marking scheme in the UPTET exam. This means that candidates are not penalized for incorrect answers in the UPTET exam.
