Explore colleges based on AIBE
Based on ,LL.M.,AIBE
A: I have completed my Bachelor in Art (Hons) and LLB (3 years) from Llyod Law College, Greater Noida.
Q: What is your score in AIBE exam?
A: I am still awaiting my AIBE score. It is expected to be released by April-end.
Q: What do you currently do?
A: I am in the process of contacting law firms and looking for an opportunity to work with them.
Q: Did you expect that you would qualify for AIBE exam?
A: Yes, I knew I would qualify for the exam since it is an open-book exam, which assesses the candidate’s legal knowledge and conceptual clarity.
Q: Could you tell us about your preparation strategy that helped you crack AIBE exam?
A: I did not prepare much for this exam. I just studied previous year AIBE question papers, Bare Acts and most importantly, Criminal Manual, Code of Civil Procedure (CPC), Constitution of India that cover most of the questions. I also read newspapers and studied some landmark cases while preparing for the exam.
Q: Did you take any coaching for the exam?
A: No, I do not think coaching is required. I think self-study is better than relying on coaching institutes.
Q: What study plan did you follow for the exam?
A: Everyone thinks that one has to study a lot to qualify for this exam. That’s not true and my case was totally different. I was never stuck to any schedule and followed any study plan. Rather I used to study only in my leisure time.
Q: Which books did you read to prepare for the exam?
A: To qualify for the AIBE, the candidate is required to have a general understanding of the topic and conceptual clarity. Since I am a law graduate, my basic concepts were clear. The books, which I referred to include:
- CPC by CKTakwani
- Company Law and Practice by AK Majumdar/Dr GK Kapoor
- Constitution of India by Durga DasBasu
- Sarkar’s Civil Practice and Procedure Manual
- Universal’s Criminal Manual
- Other Bare Acts of Universal Law Publishing Co Pvt Ltd.
Q: How did you deal with your strengths and weaknesses while preparing for the exam?
A: I am a good planner. I can understand the situation well and make better strategy, but at the same time, I am not very good at writing stories. Since AIBE was an objective-type exam, so I did not face much difficulty in dealing with my strengths or weaknesses.
Q: Was law always your first preference?
A: Law was never my first preference. Studying law was an impossible thing for me. I was neither stuck to any schedule nor followed any study plan. Rather, I used to study only in my leisure time.
Q: Any tips for students who are planning to take the exam.
A: In order to qualify for the exam, one should be a fast reader and know how to read Bare Acts. He/she should be confident and clear about the basic concepts.
Q: What are your future plans?
A: I would like to work for the underprivileged and get justice for them. I want to give voice to those who are deprived of justice and are treated unfairly by the system.
