The CLAT 2025 exam date was December 1, 2024. Candidates who will be appearing for the exam can check here for CLAT exam day instructions, things that were prohibited to carry to the exam centre, things to carry, and more.

CLAT 2025 Exam: The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 was on December 1, 2024 in offline mode. The Common Law Admission Test was conducted in pen-and-paper mode from 2 pm to 4 pm.

CLAT admit card was released on November 15, 2024; i.e. 15 days before the CLAT Exam 2025. Candidates could download the CLAT Hall Ticket 2025 until 1.30 pm of the CLAT 2025 exam date. The Consortium released the CLAT 2025 Exam Day Guidelines along with the hall ticket of the CLAT Exam 2025. 

The exam has been concluded. Therefore, the CLAT 2025 Answer Key will be released anytime soon at consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2025. The Consortium will release the CLAT 2025 Question Paper with answer key soon after the exam. CLAT 2025 OMR Sheet will also be released.

Candidates should be aware of the CLAT 2025 exam instructions to be followed at CLAT test centres. They must be aware of the CLAT 2025 exam day guidelines concerning documents to be carried, things prohibited inside the center as well as, and schedule. CLAT consortium will also release certain safety guidelines to be followed at the test centers. The scores of CLAT will be accepted by 24 National Law Universities for admission to various law courses like; BA LLB, BBA LLB, B.Com LLB and B.Sc LLB and LLM programmes. CLAT 2025 Exam Day Bell Timings

Candidates can check the bell timing for CLAT Exam 2025 below:

CLAT Exam Day Guidelines for CLAT Exam Centre 2025

On the exam day, candidates must carry the following items to the allotted CLAT test center 2025:

  • Download CLAT admit card 2025: The CLAT 2025 hall ticket was a mandatory document to be carried to the test centre. Candidates could download the CLAT admit card from the official website of the exam by using their mobile number and password. 
  • Keep ID proof ready: Along with the admit card, candidates were required to carry a valid and original photo ID proof to the test center. Both the ID proof and the admit card were checked at the entry gate of the CLAT test center. Candidates could carry documents such as an Aadhaar Card, Driver's License, Passport, Voter ID, etc., as valid ID proofs.
  • Attested photo: In case the photograph printed on the admit card was not clear, such candidates were required to carry an attested photograph to the Common Law Admission Test center. The photo was required to match the photograph printed on the CLAT 2025 admit card.
  • Disability certificate: For candidates belonging to Persons with Disability (PwD) category, it was also mandatory to carry their disability certificate
  • Blue/black ball-point pen: Since CLAT 2025 was an offline exam, candidates were required to carry a ball-point pen of blue and black colour to the centre. Candidates were not be allowed to use a pen of any other colour for writing on the admit card or filling the details on the OMR sheet.
  • Transparent water bottle: Water was not offered to the candidates by the test centre authorities. Therefore, candidates were allowed to carry their water bottles. However, the water bottle was required be transparent. Any other type of bottle was be allowed inside the test centre premises.
  • Analogue watch: This year, candidates were also allowed to carry analogue watches inside the test centre

Candidates can check the list of ID proofs that will be accepted in CLAT Test Centres below:

  • Aadhaar Card

  • PAN card

Things NOT to Carry to CLAT Exam Centre 2025

Apart from the items and documents mentioned above, candidates are not allowed to carry following items inside the test centre:

Q:   Will CLAT be held twice in 2025?

A:

In 2022, CLAT exam was held twice, I. e. on June 19 as CLAT 2022, and on December 18, 2022 as CLAT 2023. However, from 2024 onwards, CLAT exam is to be conducted once in a year only, as confirmed by the exam officials in the latest notification. Earlier, CLAT exam was conducted in May or June, but from 2024 onwards the entrance exam will be conducted in December (of preceding year to the admission year) itself for concluding admissions on time. Therefore, CLAT counselling process will be completed by May of each academic year.

Q:   When will the CLAT 2025 exam be held?

A:

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) conducted the CLAT 2025 on December 1, 2024. The exam authority published the admission notification for CLAT 2025 with details of syllabus, exam pattern and events on the official website. 

Q:   Are calculators allowed in CLAT Exam?

A:

Calculators are not allowed in the CLAT exam. However, students are provided the virtual calculator during the exam which can be used to solving lengthy calculations. The virtual calculator is made available on the computer screen during the test and candidates can use it by clicking on the calculator link. Candidates are advised to practice solving numerical questions on their own as using virtual calculators can take much time

  • Reporting time: All candidates were required to report to the allotted CLAT exam center at least one hour before the commencement of the exam, i.e., by 1:00 PM. It was noted that no candidate was allowed to enter the exam hall 15 minutes after the commencement of the exam.
  • Baggage: Candidates were advised to carry only minimal items to the CLAT test centre. All the baggage had to be kept outside the centre, and the authorities were not responsible for any loss or damage of items.
  • Social distancing: Candidates must strictly follow social distancing and avoid crowding or standing in groups
  • Body temperature checking: At the registration desk, all candidates were directed to sanitise their hands. Thereafter, all candidates had to undergo the mandatory body-temperature check using thermal guns. As per the latest notification released by the CLAT Consortium, any candidate who was COVID-positive and under isolation was not allowed to take the exam.
  • Document verification: The admit card, along with the original photo ID proof, was checked by the centre authorities at the entry gate. Therefore, candidates had to keep them ready and handy for verification.
  • Scribe for PwD: Since COVID-19, all PwD candidates had to arrange their scribe at their own cost and inform the regional coordinator. The qualification of the scribe had to be one step below the qualification of the candidate taking the CLAT exam.

CLAT exam day guidelines for PWDs and Specially abled persons

Candidates appearing for CLAT Exam under PWD/ Specially-abled persons criteria must follow the important instructions mentioned below:

  • Total time provided to PwDs/SAPs in CLAT 2025 was 40 minutes extra; i.e. 2 hours and 40 minutes.
  • PwDs/ SAPs candidates had to carry their original Disability Certificate to the Test Centre on the day of the CLAT 2025
  • PwDs/SAPs who wished to make arrangements for getting their personal scribe had to inform the consortium and bear the associated costs.
  • PwDs/SAPs candidates who wished to avail the facility of a scribe through the Consortium had to send an email to the consortium with the duly filled proformas given below within the prescribed deadline.

Q:   What are the exam timings for CLAT 2025?

A:

CLAT 2025 exam timings was confirmed in admission notification. The CLAT exam was held from 2 pm to 4 pm. The duration of CLAT exam was two hours, and therefore, the exam authority scheduled exam on the same day for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. On the day of examination, candidates had to report at least an hour before the exam timings, so as to complete frisking and check seating plan at the test centre. Q:   Is there Maths in CLAT 2025?

A:

Yes, there is math in CLAT exam. The section carries 10 per cent weight. Scoring well in maths can give candidates big boost over competition. The CLAT syllabus for Quantitative Techniques  includes the following important highlights:

  • The section includes 13-17 questions in the exam
  • Unlike other sections, the Quantitative Techniques section includes short sets of facts, propositions, graphs or other textual, pictorial, diagrammatic representation of numerical information
  • Majority of the questions in the section are created specifically for the exam, however, few graphs and histograms are also derived from public sources such as the official website of Reserve Bank of India
  • The difficulty level of questions in the exam is of Class 10 level, however, the questions are more logic-based rather than formulae-based

Q:   How to Check CLAT Merit List 2025?

A:

Candidates can check the NLU-wise CLAT merit list by following the below steps:

Step 1: Visit CLAT official website

Step 2: Navigate to ‘Notifications’ section

Step 3: Click on ‘CLAT 2025 Allotment List’ link

Step 4: View and download the CLAT allotment list 2025

Candidates must note that they can appear for CLAT Counselling 2025 only if there name is there in the merit list. CLAT counselling will be conducted in online mode. Candidates must appear for the counselling to get admission to one of the NLUs in the country.

Q:   What are the CLAT exam slot timings?

A:

CLAT exam is held only in one slot. It will be conducted in offline mode. CLAT 2025 will be held on December 1, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm. Candidates must note that the CLAT 2025 Application Process will be closed atleast two weeks before the exam day. Candidates who wish to pursue a law programme from one of the 24 NLUs in the country have to fill the application form before the last date. Candidates have to appear for the exam at the allotted test centre. 

Q:   What to do if I forget the password for CLAT Login?

A:
In case you forget the password for CLAT login, then you can recover it easily by clicking on 'Forgot Password' link at the bottom of the login window. For recovering the password or resetting the login account, the exam authority will ask your registered mobile number and email ID, and send an OTP on it. You need to enter this OTP to recover the account by clicking on 'Reset Account' button, and then create a new password for CLAT application login.

Candidates have to follow the protocols while reporting to the exam authorities at the exam centre. During the reporting, candidates have to follow the instructions as under: 

  • Invigilator instructions: Candidates must follow instructions given by the invigilator inside the exam hall. No doubts relating to the CLAT questions 2025 will be entertained during the exam.
  • Admit card: All candidates have to sign their admit card in the exam hall in the presence of the invigilator
  • Unfair means: During the exam, candidates should not involve in any unfair means, as it can lead to their disqualification from the exam. Also, such candidates are liable to be prosecuted.
  • Exit: Candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall till the completion of the test, that is, till 4 pm. Also, candidates must leave the exam hall only after submitting the OMR response sheet.
  • CLAT question paper and response sheet: The CLAT OMR response sheet is carbonised. Candidates are allowed to carry the carbonised copy along with the CLAT question paper 2025 outside the center after the completion of the paper. Candidates must keep the carbonised copy of OMR sheet with care.

How to Use CLAT 2025 OMR Response Sheet?

While filling the CLAT OMR sheet 2025, candidates must keep in mind the following points:

  • Pen: Candidates should only use black/blue ball-point pen to write on the admit card or mark their answers on the OMR sheet
  • Marking the answer: Candidates should indicate only one answer by shading a circle from the given options
  • Shading of circle: Candidates should shade the circle on the OMR sheet entirely without leaving any space. Incomplete circles will not be considered for evaluation. Questions in which candidates shade two circles will also not be evaluated.

CLAT 2024 - Must Know

Important points regarding the CLAT question paper pattern that candidates must remember include:

  • CLAT question paper for UG courses will contain 150 passage-based multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 150 marks. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
  • CLAT question paper for LLM will contain 120 MCQs of 120 marks. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks.

Q. What is the reporting timings for CLAT 2025?

A. CLAT 2025 Exam Timing is 2 pm to 4 pm. Candidates must report at least an hour before the exam timings to test centre. The exact timings for reporting and frisking are mentioned on CLAT admit card. 

Q. What document can be carried as a photo identification proof along with CLAT 2025 admit card?

A. Candidates can carry any valid photo ID such as Aadhaar Card, Driver's Liscense, Voter Id, Passport, PAN Card.  Note: Aadhaar Card Enrollment slip is not considered as a valid photo ID proof.  

Q. Is it mandatory to wear mask at CLAT exam centres 2025?

A. To safeguard oneself and prevent COVID-infection, it is advised that candidates wear face masks/ shields inside the examination hall. 

Q. Can I take breaks during the examination?

A. CLAT exam is of two hours duration, and a candidates is required to sit through the examination. Therefore, taking breaks midway is not allowed. 

Q. When will the answer key of CLAT 2025 be released?

A. CLAT 2025 answer keys will be published on the official website within few hours after the examination. 

Q. Will the exam centre officials provide test-taking material like pen?

A. No, the exam centre officials do not provide any test-taking items like pen or pencil. The candidates need to carry their own HB pencil and black/ blue inked pens to fill the OMR sheet. 

Q. Was there any sectional time limit for CLAT 2025?

A. No, there is no sectional time limit for CLAT 2025. The exam will begin at 2 pm and end at 4 pm, and the test-takers can manage the time between the sections as per their covenience.
