The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) Counselling process 2026 is completely online. Candidates who have cleared the CLAT Exam 2026 can appear for the counselling. The CLAT Merit Lists 2026 for all rounds will be released at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The exam authority will publish the merit list for all participating National Law Universities (NLUs) according to the reservation criteria of their respective state/UT governments.
The CLAT Second Merit List was published on January 22, 2026. The Consortium published the CLAT First Merit List 2026 on January 7, 2026. Latest Update: CLAT 2026 Second Merit List Live Updates
Candidates must note that there is a change in the seat matrix of NALSAR, Hyderabad. As per the CLAT notification, for both UG and PG, the SC of TL category has been subdivided into 3 sub-groups as SC-TL (Group I), SC-TL (Group II) and SC- TL(Group III). Candidates are requested to view the Telangana State Rationalisation of Reservations of SC Act document for clarification regarding which Schedule castes belong to which group available. Candidates who have applied for SC-TL can update their reservation through the Consortium official website. Log in to the CLAT account and click on the ‘Update SC-TL Reservation’ button. Thereafter, select the reservation category from the drop-down.

The seat intake for all participating NLUs accepting CLAT 2026 scores is as under:
Candidates included in the invite list of CLAT 2026 Exam could register for the counselling online, from the login portal at - consortiumofnlus.ac.in. It is advisable to candidates to check their roll number carefully in the merit list.

If the candidates is not satisfied with the CLAT seat allotment result, they can either accept or opt for upgradingt the college alloted. The Freeze option is used by candidates to confirm their choice of NLU. Apply for upgrade option is used when candidates want to change the allotted institute to his or her higher choice (upward shifting).
Yes, with a CLAT Rank of 1500, you have a very good chance of getting into several good NLUs. Some fo the NLU where your chances are high are NLIU Bhopal or NLU Jodhpur.
There is no restriction as such for the CLAT exam. Thus, one can give CLAT any number of times they want to. Candidates should not feel bad if they are not able to clear the CLAT exam in first time.

No you can not get admission to 26 participating NLUs without clearing CLAT Exam. For admission to NLU Delhi, you need to clear AILET Exam.
The Consortium will release atleast five merit list to complete the admission process through CLAT Score. However, the number of merit list might change in case of some discrepancy in answer key or result.
Candidates can apply for CLAT Exam by visiting consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying. CLAT Admission Process is completely online and no offline form will be accepted.

- Class 10th marksheet
- Class 12th marksheet
- Character Certificate/Conduct Certificate from the Educational Institution last attended
- Transfer/Migration Certificate from the Educational Institution last attended
- Caste Certificate (SC, ST, OBC, etc.) if applied and allotted under the Reserved category of seats
- PwD/SAP Certificate, if applied and allotted under the PwD category attended
- Domicile/Residence Certificate, if applied and allotted under the domicile/resident category seat
- Wards of Serving/Retired Defence Personnel, EWS certificate, Sons/daughters of Ex-servicemen/Defence service personnel etc.
