AIBE 19 (XIX) Preparation Tips 2024-25
Candidates must prepare for the bar examination with the help of Bare Act without comments, so that they can attempt the questions smoothly. To pass the AIBE examination, one needs to secure at least 40% marks (35% marks in case of SC/ ST category). Therefore, candidates should cover important topics first and prepare for AIBE with following tips:
Revision of LLB notes - AIBE is a professional exam based on the subjects studied by the candidates throughout their law graduation. Therefore, they should revise their notes prepared for the subjects. If there are no notes (which is non-viable) then candidates can obtain it from their seniors or buy it online from social media groups. However, handmade notes make it easier to revise. Candidates need to revise topics with higher weightage in AIBE syllabus first, then the ones with lesser weightage.
Bare Acts without comments - Throughout college life, a law student learns to use the Bare Acts books, but the ones with short notes. AIBE XVI onwards, only Bare Acts without comments are allowed to attempt the exam, therefore, a candidate has to change the strategy accordingly. It is best that candidates buy Bare Acts without short notes as early as possible, and start learning at least 10 sections a day from each law subject. Moreover, there are 395 articles + over 100 amendments in Constitutional law. Candidates need to schedule the remaining months accordingly if they have not started AIBE preparation already.
Landmark judgements of all time - Candidates must read landmark judgements (India) of all time that are asked in AIBE question paper:
- Maneka Gandhi vs Union of India - Article 21 (AIR 1978 SC 597)
- Sajjan Singh vs State of Rajasthan 1965 (AIR 845, 1965 SCR)
- Brij Bhushan Sharma vs Delhi 1950 (AIR 129, 1950 SCR 605)
- State of Uttar Pradesh v. Raj Narain (1975 AIR 865, 1975 SCR (3) 333)
- Shreya Singhal vs Union of India Section 66A of IT Act 2000 2015 - Right to privacy
- Joseph Shine vs Union of India 2018 - Decriminilising adultery
- Shayara Bano vs Union of India 2017 - Triple Talaq
And many more landmark subjects are available that candidates must go through regularly.
Latest judgements by Supreme Court - Every day notable judgments are passed, and candidates can go through the month-wise judgments of SC that were in media attention. AIBE question paper will carry recent judgments based questions. Moreover, candidates should also study case laws/ precedent judgments.
Past years AIBE question papers - Candidates must go through at least five-years question papers of AIBE exams held in the past. They should be refer the past years question papers of AIBE as mock tests.

To pass AIBE 19, a candidate must have at least 45% marks in case of being from the general or OBC category, and 40% in case of a candidate belonging to the SC/ST category. Considering you scored 43 marks, it seems that you failed to cross the pass mark.
