KEA allots Karnataka PGCET inter-se merit rank based on performance in the exam. For two or more candidates who got identical scores in Karnataka PGCET 2022, KEA has allotted the rank based on the following criteria:

Q:   How much should I get in KCET to get seat in MS Ramaiah?

A:

Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) Seat Allotment Results have been released up to Round 2 for Ramaiah Institute of Technology admission to BE course. According to the Ramaiah Institute of Technology cutoff for Round 1 in 2023, the closing ranks for all BE specialisations ranged between 1045 and 43629. The most competitive specialisation has been B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering with a closing rank of 1045, followed by B.E. in Information Science and Engineering with a 1769 rank for the General category students. Candidates seeking admission in MS Ramaiah can refer to the table given below to check the Round 1 closing ranks for all BE specialisations offered by Ramaiah Institute of Technology for the General All India category students:

Q:   How can one prepare for General Knowledge section of Karnataka PGCET exam?

A:

In order to be strong in the General Knowledge section, candidates should regularly follow the news, read bulletins, and refer Manorama Year Book and write them down in a notebook to remember the events. Get a subscription of a newspaper of your choice and read the new stories. Candidates can also subscribe new stories offered by various apps and websites on the internet. Consume general knowledg and current affairs daily.

Q:   Which section of Karnataka PGCET has the maximum weightage?

A:

All the four sections of the Karnatka PGCET exam will have equal weightage in terms of number of questions and marks. Each 4 section has 25 quwestions and carry 1 marks each. This means each section has equal weightage of marks that is 25 marks.  The sections are Proficiency in English Language, General Knowledge, Reasoning and General Intelligence, and Quantitative Analysis. Total marks of the paper is thus 100.

  1. Candidates with a better aggregate score in the qualifying exam are prioritised while preparing the Karnataka PGCET inter-se merit.
  2. In case candidates had identical scores in the qualifying exam, KEA considered the age of the candidate for rank allotment. The elder candidate got a better merit postion in the Karnataka PGCET inter-se merit list.

If the candidates have identical scores and birth date, KEA will use the draw of lots technique to land at a conclusion.

Q:   What is the desired study plan for Karnataka PGCET exam?

A:

Candidates must have a plan for Karnatak PGCET preparation based on their schedule. Hus there is no one shoe that will fit all. However, When you have limited time in hand for Karnataka PGCET exam preparation, each day counts. To utilise each day in the right way, create an hourly plan. Pick up the hard topics or in other words, topics in which you lack confidence in the first week. Divide the topics into two halves. In the first half, devote your attention to completing a hard topic and in the second half to cover an easier topic. By doing this, the stress level will be balanced.

Make a plan that you do not have to regret following or demand a cheat day after following it for certain days. Do not consult your friends while preparing your study plan. No two individual is alike. Create by understanding your individual information intake capacity and picking up topics for each day. If you are confident to cover more than two topics in a day, go for it. Schedule at least two hours to practice one sample paper each day to self-analyse your preparation level

People's Education Society University, Bangalore, is one of the country's leading teaching and research universities with a rank of 100 in NIRF 2022. The university offers admission to a total of six specializations in the B.Tech course. These are computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Biotechnology. The admission is normally done on the basis of KCET rank, however, it has recently started admissions through JEE Mains also. Candidates need to register for B.Tech (JEE) on the official website and appear for counseling to secure admission. It is difficult to predict if you may get admission as the admission will depend on a number of factors like candidate applying, seats available, and the score of applying candidates. However, you are eligible for counseling.

Q:   What are the broad topics to prepare for Karnataka PGCET exam?

The broad topics from Karnataka PGCET 2024 exam include Proficiency in English Language, General Knowledge, Test of Reasoning and General Intelligence and Quantitative Analysis. Karnataka PGCET preparation should be aligned with the syllabus and exam pattern prescribed by the KEA. The topics covered under these board sections are:

  • Proficiency in the English Language: The questions in this section check knowledge of the English language, grammar, correct expression of words in English, ability to frame sentences, acumen of business language and vocabulary.

  • General Knowledge: Questions in this section will check candidates’ awareness of events happening in India and the world at large. Some of the topics to keep in focus when preparing for the section are Indian Business Environment, Economics, Management, Cultural Events, and others.

  • Test of Reasoning and General Intelligence: The questions in this section are in the form of puzzles, analogies, and sets and are analytical in nature. It tests the candidates’ ability to apply their analytical minds to answer questions.

  • Quantitative Analysis: Questions in this section will not be from advanced level arithmetic, statistics, and data interpretation. However, knowing the right formula is important to crack questions asked in this section

Q:   Is Karnataka PGCET an online CBT exam or an offline pen and paper-based exam?

A:

KEA conducts Karnataka PGCET as an offline exam using the OMR input system. Candidates have to attempt the exam in pen and paper mode at the designated exam centre. Candidates need to0 mark the answers in an OMR sheet provided at the test centre. Each question will have options. The most appropriate option will have to be selected and candidates have to mark the bubble corresponding to the most appropriate answer. For example if the answer to question 2 is C, then the bubble C has to be darkened.

Q:   What is the eligibility for taking admission to BCom at PES University?

A:

In order to take admission to BCom course at PES University, students need to pass Class 12 with 50% aggregate in any stream from a recognised board.
