Q:   Can I take admission to DU with 60% in Class 12?

A:

DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU.

However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).

Q:   Is CUET exam date announced?

A:

National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the CUET 2025 exam date anytime soon at nta.ac.in. It is expected that CUET UG 2025 exam will be held in May/June. The exam will be conducted in multiple slots each day. The number of CUET exam slots will depend upon the number of candidates registered for the exam.

CUET 2025 registrations will commence at cuetug.ntaonline.in. Candidates willing to appear for the CUET for admission to UG courses of Central, State, Private or Deemed universities must fill the online application form to appear for the CUET 2025 exam. Only registered candidates will be able to appear for the exam as per the schedule.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for the BSc course at University of Delhi?

A:

The eligibility criteria for pursuing BSc from DU is as follows:

  • Pass in Class 12 or equivalent exam
  • A valid score in the CUET (Common University Entrance Test).
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India
  • The candidate must have not crossed the age of 25 years on the first day of the academic session

The CUET (Common University Entrance Test) - UG exam accepted by DU is a national-level entrance exam that is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate courses in various central universities, including DU. The scores of CUET are used for admission to both BSc (Hons) and BSc (General) courses in DU.

In addition to the above, some DU-affiliated colleges could have additional eligibility criteria, such as a minimum age limit or a requirement for a set percentage of marks in certain subjects. Hence, candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of the specific college and course in DU UG Information Bulletin available on the official website.

The typical process for CUET 2024 seat allotment is as follows:

  1. Filling admission forms released by different participating universities accepting CUET scores.
  2. Candidates have to enter their CUET exam details, including hall ticket number, sectional and overall scores while filling the form.
  3. Filling preferences for colleges and programmes based on CUET scores.
  4. Screening of applicants for admission based on numerous factors.
  5. Publication of CUET seat allotment list on the university website.
  6. Exercising options, such as accepting or rejecting seats allotted based on CUET exam scores.
  7. Payment of admission fees as mentioned in the allotment order.
  8. Publication of vacancy details (if required)
  9. Release of round-2 seat allotment lists to fill vacant seats

Candidates selected as per the CUET seat allotment results may have to report at the allotted college for document verification and other admission formalities. Several CUET participating universities may directly shortlist candidates based on the normalised score in CUET 2024 published by NTA. In contrast, some participating universities may have dedicated selection criteria.
