MAT exam 2025 will be conducted in February, May, September and December. AIMA will announce the MAT exam schedule of February 2025 soon. Q: What are MAT eligibility criteria?
Since MAT is an entrance exam for post graduate level management courses, the minimum eligibility criteria for MAT exam is graduation. Candidate should have completed graduation in full-time or part-time mode in Arts, Commerce or Science from a recognised university. The eligibility criteria for MAT PBT, CBT and IBT are the same. Final year graduation students who will be giving their final exam or awaiting results are also eligible to appear in MAT. There is no minimum score requirement in MAT. Candidates need to have passing marks in graduation.
However, MBA colleges have the eligibility criteria of minimum 50 per cent in graduation (45 per cent for SC/ST/PWD), thus candidates who aspire to pursue MBA need to ensure that they score a minimum of 50 per cent in graduation. SC/ST/PwD candidates need to have a minimum of 45 per cent in their Bachelor's degree programme. There is no age bar or appearing in MAT. Fresh graduates as well as working professionals can apply for MAT.

MAT 2025 Registration and Application Process
MAT application forms for all three modes are same. The MAT form can be filled in online mode only. Check the MAT application process below:
- Open AIMA MAT website i.e. mat.aima.in
- Click on Register option
- Enter basic details and select a password to register
- Use the OTP received on phone to verify phone number
- Log in to access the MAT application form 2025
- Pay the fee amount via debit/credit card or net banking
- Select exam mode and two test cities (for PBT/CBT)
- Fill the remaining fields in the form
- Upload pass port size photo and signature in prescribed format
- Select five institutes for AIMA to send your MAT score
- Download the copy of duly filled application form after submission

MAT 2025 Preparation
MAT preparation is possible in six months. Since the difficulty level is low to moderate, candidates can score high with basic preparation of Data Analysis & Data Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning and Language Comprehension. To prepare for MAT 2025, candidates should first decide upon the examination phase (February, May, September and December). Then they should check MAT syllabus and MAT books. Q: For how long is MAT score valid?
MAT score is valid for admission for the same academic year in which the candidate has taken the exam. For example, MAT 2024 score will be valid for admission for 2024-2026 MBA batch only. If a candidate wishes to drop a year after taking the MAT exam, then they will have to appear for the exam once again next year. They should however check the eligibility or selection criteria to have a clarity of MAT score of which session/phase is valid for admission in which academic year. For example, for 2025 academic session MAT September 2024 and MAT December 2024 scores will be valid for admission to some MBA colleges who have the admission cycle of January-February. Whereas, colleges who conduct admission in March-May accept MAT February exam scores for admission. To simplify, MAT test takers must not try to use their score for admission more than one year after appearing for it. They should appear for it again and use the latest score for admission.

It is difficult to get admission into ASM's Institute of Business Management and Research without giving MAT.
Only those applicants who have successfully completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited university with at least a 50% grade point average and who also possess a current CAT, MAT, ATMA, XAT, CMAT, or HMBA CET score are eligible for admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme. Similar to this, the selection criteria for MBA courses is a valid score on the CAT, CMAT, or MHMBACET.
However, admission requirements are dynamic so it is advisable to check the latest admission minimum requirement and selection criteria.
Q: Does JAGSoM Bangalore accept MAT score?
Admissions to a two-year PGDM course at Jagdish Sheth School of Management (JAGSoM) Bangalore is entrance-based. The institute accepts a valid score of MAT for admission to this course. Candidates can also apply via scores of other national-level entrance exams such as CAT, XAT and CMAT. Those who qualify for MAT can submit their scores at the time of filling the admission form. Apart from this, aspirants also have to qualify for Jagdish Management Aptitude Test (JAGMAT). The score of JAGMAT are also mandatory to submit at the time of admission.
