With only a few days left for TISSNET, here are a few tips that can ensure you score well in the exam. Read below to know the strategy that will be best suited for you.
Last-week tips
- My advice for all TISSNET aspirants would be to have a thorough understanding of all the important formulas, calculation tricks and shortcuts in the next couple of days. Do not try to study a new concept at this juncture rather focus well on whatever you have covered before.
- In the last few days, solve only a maximum of two mocks and analyse them thoroughly to eliminate all possible errors, if any. Also, make a note of such mistakes to avoid losing both marks as well as morale on the exam day. Watch out for the videos and articles on the Internet of the previous TISSNET toppers and know-how they leveraged their time and resources, and which strategy they used to score that
- I also advise aspirants to unwind themselves on Friday before the exam by indulging in activities such as meditation which would both calm their nerves as well as refresh them on the exam day.
- Being a 100-minute exam with no negative marking, the candidates are advised to attempt all the questions. If a candidate wishes to excel in TISSNET, they have to make sure to attempt all the questions with great accuracy. Hence, speed coupled with accuracy will help you score high.
- There would be pretty good chances of a student not being able to solve the questions or encountering questions that would be too lengthy. In the latter scenario, ensure not to spend too much time on a particular question no matter what. Time management plays an important role in cracking any time-bound exam, thus moving on to the next question in case one question is time-consuming, is obviously a wise decision.
Section-wise strategy
- Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning: Aptitude and reasoning section carries 30 questions of 1 mark each. This section, in particular, is concept-driven and needs sharp calculating skills. It is advised to solve at least four varied questions from each topic in the given syllabus.
- General Knowledge: With 40 questions of one mark each, this section has the highest Candidates who keep a tab on the news regularly will surely fare better over others. Majority of the questions here are asked from static GK, so one should also keep revising the details of important movements, politics, famous authors, economy, festivals, and inventions, etc.
- Verbal ability: This section also has a significant weight age of 30 marks. Students should be well versed in the reading comprehension passages, word analogies, antonym synonym, and error spotting, etc. Keep brushing up your grammatical skills and vocabulary and topics like idioms and phrases.
