The IRMASAT exam has been scrapped. The admissions are offered through other management exams such as CAT, XAT and CMAT. The institute will still conduct the selection process as per the following process.Â
IRMASAT counselling: IRMASAT Personal Interview will likely be conducted in the second week of February 2025 to Third week of February 2025. Candidates will have the option to select their time slot and city while filling the IRMASAT application form 2025. IRMA doesn’t conduct any counselling process. Admissions are done based on CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT/GRE scores, IRMASAT scores, IRMA Written Ability Test (IWAT) performance in Personal Interviews, academic history and work profile. After the IRMASAT 2025 exam and Personal Interview (PI) are conducted, the final merit list of candidates selected for admission is released. Selected students will then have to submit the initial admission fee to confirm their admission. This year, IRMASAT PI was conducted offline. The weightage of the IRMA online personal interview is 35% of the selection process.Â
Q: Â What is the eligibility criteria for IRMASAT?
IRMASAT is conducted by the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) for admission to its Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) programme. The eligibility criteria for IRMASAT are as follows:
- Domestic Candidates:
- Graduates in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
- Candidates in their final year of the examination are also eligible, but they must submit proof of qualifying the final year by September 2024.
- Candidates must have scored 85 percentile or above in CAT 2023, XAT 2024, or CMAT 2024.
- Foreign Candidates:
- Graduates in any stream with at least 50% aggregate or equivalent from a recognised university.
- Candidates must have appeared in GMAT/GRE (from 2016 onwards) and have a score that meets the minimum cut-off criteria set by IRMA.
- Sponsored Candidates:
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university/institution.
- Candidates should have worked with the sponsoring organisation for a minimum of two years (as of July 1, 2024) as a regular employee on a full-time basis.
- There is no age limit to appear for IRMASAT.

The final selection of students to IRMA Anand's Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) course is based on the entrance exam scores and candidates' performance in GA and PI rounds. The entrance exams accepted include XAT/ CAT/ CMAT. The eligibility criteria for admissions is that candidate should have passed graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Additionally, the documents required for admissions include Scanned photograph and signature, Scanned and self-attested copy of category Certificate (as applicable), Scanned graduation marksheet, Class 10 and Class 12 marksheet, Domicile Certificate Sports Certificate and Work related documents.
Q: Â Is IRMASAT exam still conducted?
The IRMASAT exam was scrapped by the Institute of Rural Management, Anand. The college started accepting scores of the popular national entrance exams such as CAT, XAT and CMAT for admission to the PGDM programme in Rural Management by the institute.
Q: Â Do any of the IIMs accept IRMASAT?
No, IIMs do not accept IRMASAT scores for admission to their management programmes. IIMs have their own separate entrance exam, CAT (Common Admission Test) which is used for admission to MBA and other post graduate management programmes. IRMASAT, is only accept by the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) specifically for admission to its postgraduate programme in rural management. IRMA is an institute which has its focus on rural and development management.
Candidates who wish to take admission to any IIMs, they need to appear for the CAT exam and meet the eligibility criteria set by the IIMs.

IRMASAT 2025 Selection Process
The IRMASAT 2025 selection process includes two steps; i.e. Written Ability Test and a Personal Interview. Read below to know more about the two:
Written Ability Test (WAT): Shortlisted candidates will be called for the next round of selection, where they will have to appear for a Written Ability Test on the day of their Personal Interview. Candidates will be assigned a topic on the spot to write on in about 200-300 words. It will be a paper-based test for 30 minutes. The WAT round is designed to evaluate the candidates' rural aptitude as well as written communication skills.Â
Personal Interview (PI): A Personal Interview is conducted to test the candidate’s knowledge and understanding of rural issues of the country and find out if they have the aptitude to fulfil the roles and responsibilities of a management professional operating in cooperatives, NGOs and development organisations. A Personal Interview is a more personalized round in which the candidates get to interact face-to-face with the selectors. They are judged on their communication skills, aptitude for the rural management field and suitability for the programme.
The final selection of candidates for 240 seats in PGDRM is based on their performance in CAT 2024/CMAT 2025/XAT 2025, IRMASAT, Personal Interview, Academic Performance and Diversity. Each of these parameters has been allotted a particular weightage.
The Personal Interview was conducted offline. Candidates who opt for the offline mode for PI can choose the two preferred cities while filling the IRMASAT 2025 application form. The offline PI round was conducted in 13 cities as follows:

Selection Criteria for IRMA 2025 Admission
For IRMASAT Admissions 2025, IRMAÂ will select candidates under two categories:
1. Merit-cum-profile based call
2. Merit-based call (Non-Profile Based Call)
Candidates who fulfill the following criteria may be shortlisted for Merit-cum-profile based calls:
- Graduation in: Development, Agriculture, Dairy, Public policy, Sustainability, Veterinary Sciences, Food Technology
- Work experience in Development Sector, Dairy, Public Policy
- Excellence: Graduation from top universities and colleges
A minimum qualifying percentile has been fixed for the selection of candidates for IRMASAT 2025 and GA and PI. Candidates of General Category, who score 80 percentile or above in CAT 2023/XAT 2025 are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMASAT 2025 and GA and PI process under merit-cum profile-based call. Candidates of General Category, who score 85 percentile or above in CAT 2024/CMAT 2025/XAT 2025 and fall in the Non-profile based call criteria are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMASAT 2025 and GA and PI process. Cut off for the candidates of reserved categories will be decided separately at the appropriate time.

IRMA accepts CAT score for admission to the MBA programme. Candidates seeking admission must appear for CAT 2023 exam which is scheduled for Nov 26, 2023. CAT cutoff 2023 is yet to release for IRMA. IRMASAT 2025 Final Selection Criteria Details
Solely meeting the eligibility criteria for IRMASAT 2025 does not guarantee admission to IRMA. Following factors will also be taken into consideration:
- Stage 1: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the scores obtained by them in CAT 2024/CMAT 2025/XAT 2025 (whichever is higher)
- Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for WAT-PI rounds where they will be evaluated on their communication skills, managerial abilities, rural aptitude and written communication skills.Â
- 3.5% weightage will be given for gender diversity where 3.5% weightage is given to women and transgenders and 0% to male candidates
- If an applicant provides valid proof of having passed their Class 12 or Class 10 from a school located in an aspirational district, they will get two marks in their final score. The candidates belonging to North-eastern states will be provided three marks, provided they submit a valid domicile certificate.Â
- If a candidate provides a government-issued certificate of their participation in sports at different levels they will be awarded marks corresponding to the level of their participation. They will be given 1.5% weightage.Â
- Candidates from any discipline except Engineering will be given the benefit of 2% of Academic Diversity
- The institutes/universities will be decided based on government rankings – NIRF 2024 Ranking and ICAR ranking for Agricultural Universities
- Only full-time paid employment experience after the completion of graduation will be considered as of September 30, 2024. A benefit of 5% will be given to such candidates. Check the table below to know more:

There are different exams through which students can get admission in IRMA Anand.
