NEET Answer Key 2024 (Available): Download Final Answer Key PDF for All Codes

NEET answer keys were released on the official website of NEET, exams.nta.ac.in/NEET and neet.ntaonline.in. For the provisional answer keys, candidates had to log in to the NEET website with their NEET 2024 application number, date of birth and Security Code. After that, they have to download their response sheets and the provisional answer keys. The final answer keys will be available on the NTA and the NEET website, which candidates can directly download, without having to log in. The final answer keys of NEET have been released on June 4, 2024 at the official website of the exam. Yes, NTA announced that there was one question in the NEET 2024 question paper, which had two correct answer options. Hence, any candidate who had attempted that question and marked either of the answer options, have been given full marks. According to NTA, this year only one NEET answer key challenge was received which was validated. Based on the bonus marking, 44 candidates' scores turned out to be 720 out of 720, leading them to secure AIR 1.  However, during the Supreme Court hearing on NEET 2024 petitions, the apex court asked IIT Delhi professor's opinion on this question, and it was opined that the question had only one correct answer option. Accordingly, the bonus marks had to be revoked and candidates who marked any other option apart from the correct one, faced negative marking of one mark. Accordingly, NTA released the revised final NEET 2024 answer keys on July 26, 2024.

NEET answer key, be it the official, or unofficial one, helps candidates calculate their estimated score in the NEET exam attempted by them. By doing so, they will have a fair idea about their qualification chances and can plan or predict the future course of action. In case a candidate calculates a high score in the exam based on the NEET answer key, they may shortlist their choice of medical colleges with a high rank. On the other hand, if their estimated score appears to be low, and chances to get admission to their dream college seems to be low, then they can explore other alternatives in terms of course and colleges where they may pursue their higher education based on their NEET scores. NTA will release the provisional NEET 2025 answer keys tentatively in the fourth week of May 2025, within a month of conducting the exam. Candidates will be given an opportunity to submit challenges or objections against the provisional answer keys within the next two to three days. After the submission of challenges, NTA expert committee will review the objections and release the final NEET answer keys tentatively in the first week of June 2025, a couple of days ahead of the release of the result. There will not be any opportunity to review or challenge the NEET final answer keys. The NEET 2025 result will be computed based on the NEET 2025 final answer keys.

The final answer keys are computed on the basis of the final review of the objections received against the NEET provisional answer keys. The final NEET answer keys will be the basis of the NEET result. Hence, unless NTA releases the NEET final answer key, the credibility and authenticity of the NEET result will remain questionable. In case the Review Committee members confirm that the NTA NEET answer key 2024 objection against one or more provisional keys is valid, then that question will be excluded and marks for those questions will be given to all test-takers attempting that particular question. NEET final answer keys are absolute and there is no further opportunity given to challenge against the final answer keys. While the NEET provisional answer keys are available to candidates alongwith the OMR sheets after logging in with their registration credentials, the NEET final answer keys are released on the official websites of NEET and NTA and is available for public viewing. 

There will be bonus marking or extra marks awarded to NEET candidates only if there is a discrepancy in the NEET answer key. Clarifying the same, NTA has stated:

1. If more than one option is found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.

2. If all options are found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.

3. If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a Question is dropped then all candidates who have appeared will be given four marks  (+4) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

Yes, the NEET examination pattern suggests that there will be negative marking. For every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted and 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer. However, negative marking will not be applicable for the unattempted or extra attempted questions. Since there is a negative marking scheme for wrong answers, candidates must answer questions carefully and select the questions carefully which they are sure about the accuracy.

The last date to submit challenges against the NEET 2024 answer keys for the NEET 2024 retest is June 29, 2024, 11 PM. For the original test, the last date to submit challenges was June 1, 2024, 11 AM. Originally, the last date was May 31, 2024, 11.50 PM, which was extended by appriximately 12 hours. NTA released the provisional answer keys and OMR sheet on May 30, 2024. The objection or challenge submission process is completely online and candidates will have to send objections through email in a stipulated format along with proof of objection filing against each answer keys.  The NEET 2024 final answer keys were released on June 4, 2024, ahead of the result. 

The NEET answer key objection filing fee was INR 200. The amount remained the same as last year. The NEET 2024 answer key objection fee had to be paid online, through Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking. Unless a candidate pays the fee, the objection or the challenge would not be considered to be submitted, and would not be reviewed by the expert committee. The NEET answer key challenge fee is non-refundable, even if the answer key objection is found to be valid. 

In case a candidate wishes to file objections against NEET 2024 provisional answer key, he/she has to follow the procedure and instruction stated by NTA. It must be noted that the process is completely online. The step-by-step process is given below:

• Visit the official website of NTA NEET
• Login using the NEET 2024 application number, date of birth and securty code
• Click on Key challenge tab
• Now select the test booklet code
• Select the question number and click on Submit
• Now select the answer that you think is correct and give a justification for it
• Click on Confirm
• Pay the objection filing fee of INR 200 online, through Credit/Debit Card and Net Banking
• Save the confirmation slip for future reference.

NTA sets up a special committee consisting of academic experts that review the objections and take decisions about the challenged NEET official answer keys. After the NEET provisional answer keys are released, candidates are given the opportunity to file for objections. The objections have to be raised within the stipulated date and the expert committee with assess the validity of the objections and then take a call on it. Candidates are also given the option to send files as proof to substantiate their objections.

NEET OMR sheet refers to the answer sheet or the answer booklet wherein candidates have to mark or shade the correct answer option. The fullform of OMR is Optical Mark Recognition. Unless candidates mark answers in the OMR sheet properly, those would not be marked. NTA states the following instructions about marking NEET OMR sheets, which are stated below:

• The OMR sheets will have to be marked with blue or black ballpoint pen.
• If a bubble is semi-filled, it will not be considered a valid response. Such responses will not be graded
• The marking must be confined to the circle only. Smudging or overfilled circles will not be graded.
• The correct way to mark the response is to fill the entire bubble. This will be considered a valid response.

The responses marked on the OMR Sheet of NEET are scanned and uploaded on the official website of NTA. The responses marked are read and captured by the machines, which can sometimes lead to smudging of the responses. Therefore, there can be errors in the scanned copy of NEET OMR sheet. If a student finds any such error in their OMR sheet, they have the provision to challenge them. Candidates have to pay a processing fee of INR 200 per response challenged. The steps for challenging the OMR sheet of NEET are given below:

1. Go to the official website of NTA NEET
2. Login using the NEET application number and password or date of birth
3. Click on “OMR Challenge”
4. You will see the questions in sequential order
5. Select Question (s) for which you wish to challenge the Recorded Response.
6. Once you select any Question for Challenge, you will see three options under the column ‘Candidate’s Claim’.
7. If you wish to challenge this option, you may use the Options given in the ‘Candidate’s Claim’ column.
8. After clicking your desired option, for Physics / Chemistry / Botany / Zoology for NEET (UG) - 2023, scroll down, ‘Submit’, and move to the next screen.
9. You will see a screen displaying your challenges.
10. Click on ‘Submit' and Pay Fee Finally’.
11. Select Mode of Payment and Pay a processing fee of INR 200 for each question/grade challenged. Make payment through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/Paytm.
12. After successful payment, download/print the Answer Key challenge receipt

Along with the provisional NEET answer keys, NTA releases the NEET OMR sheets of the test takers. Candidates will be able to download those from the official website of NEET. Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to download the NEET OMR sheet:

1. Visit the official website of NEET, which is exams.nta.ac.in/NEET
2. Click on the link indicating NEET OMR sheet download
3. Enter the login credentials
4. Click on ‘OMR Challenge’ tab
5. Click on ‘Click here to view your OMR Answer Sheet’
6. Check the scanned image of the answer sheet uploaded by NTA
7. Download and save the NEET OMR sheet for future reference

After downloading the NEET OMR sheets, candidates must check carefully whether it is in the same condition as the one they had submitted. In case there is any discrepancy, they can submit challenges or objections. In case there is no discrepancy, they can calculate their estimated scores by tallying their responses with the NEET provisional answer keys. 

The official NEET answer keys were released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body in two phases. The first phase is the provisional answer key. The NEET provisional answer keys are available only to those candidates who have appeared for the exam. On the other hand, the NEET final answer keys is released on the official website of NTA or NEET, which is accessible for all. It must be noted that NTA releases the NEET question papers and answer keys separately.   

Once the NEET answer key objection process is closed, NTA gets the objections reviewed by the expert committee. In case of any change in the provisional answer keys, NTA will release a press release or official notification stating the same. It will properly state whether the question or the answer key options are wrong, or if multiple answer options are correct. Accordingly, all candidates will be marked.

• If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a Question is dropped then all candidates who have appeared will be given four marks (+4) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

The provisional answer keys are released by NTA and can be downloaded only by the candidates who had appeared for the exam. NTA releases the NEET final answer keys along with the result. NTA releases the final answer keys of NEET on the official websites of NTA and NEET. The format of the NEET final answer keys is a PDF document. The correct answer option of each question from each NEET question paper set is provided in a single document. At the footer of the page, comments are added as footnotes to indicate any changes brought in to the questions or answer key options. Candidates will have to refer to their individual question paper sets to assess the final answer keys of NEET. 

No, the NEET 2024 answer key challenge processing fee of INR 200 is non-refundable. NTA has specified the same on the information bulletin. As the answer key objection fee is non-refundable, candidates must crosscheck their challenges and be completely sure about the inaccuracy of the provisional answer key before sending out the objections. Given this information, candidates must not expect a refund of fee even if the NEET answer key challenges are found to be valid.

While NTA releases the NEET answer keys PDF, it does not release the detailed solutions or the answer-solving procedures and explanations. On the other hand, experts from coaching institutes release detailed NEET answer key solutions and candidates may refer to those to note the correct and effective way of solving a question. Hence, to understand if the answer solving methodology, test takers will not have any official source of reference, but would have to rely on the unofficial sources only.

No, the National Testing Agency (NTA) does not release NEET answer keys and question papers together. While releasing the NEET provisional result, NTA releases candidates' OMR sheets. The final NEET answer key is released in the form of a single PDF document, carrying the keys for all sets of the NEET question papers. The hardcopy of the NEET question papers are given by NTA on the day of the exam. Being a paper-pencil based test, candidates are allowed to carry the question papers outside the exam hall. In general, NTA releases the NEET question papers of previous years on its official website few months after the exam is conducted. NTA has released the NEET 2023 question papers of English and Hindi languages. However, the NEET 2022 question papers are not available on the official website yet. It is expected that the question papers of NEET 2022 will be released soon.
