The NEET 2025 exam date is scheduled for May 4, 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body announced the NEET UG 2025 dates in the notification and the information bulletin for all important events. The timeline is similar to that of last year to maintain parity and begin the academic session 2025-26 within the stipulated time.
NTA released the NEET 2025 notification, information bulletin and NEET 2025 application form were released on February 7, 2025, and the last date is March 7, 2025. The NEET 2025 admit card will be released on or before May 1, 2025, a few days before the exam date. Before that, the NEET 2025 city intimation slip will be released by April 26, 2025. The NEET 2025 result will be declared by June 14, 2025.
Earlier, NTA had released a notification stating that NEET 2025 will be conducted in a single day and shift in a paper-pencil-based (PBT) or offline mode. Hence, the speculations regarding the exam being conducted in multiple days and slots have been quashed. Moreover, the NEET 2025 exam pattern has been changed. The optional questions have been removed. Instead of 200 questions, there will now be 180 questions. The total duration of NEET 2025 has been reduced from 200 minutes to 180 minutes or three hours now.

NEET Exam Dates 2025 Important Events
NTA schedules NEET UG dates for multiple events including application, admit card, exam, answer key, result and counselling. The overall duration ranges from approximately seven to eight months. Below are the salient features of the NEET 2025 exam dates and the related events. Originally, NTA announces NEET important dates for application, exam and result. For the rest of the events, such as city intimation slip, admit card, and answer key, NTA announces the dates on a real-time basis.
- NEET exam date 2025 announcement: NTA announced the NEET exam date 2025 on February 7, 2025. Last year, NTA released the NEET exam date through a common exam calendar, but the scenario is different this year. NTA is announcing the exam dates separately for each exam along with the release of the application form and information bulletin.
- NEET 2025 application dates: The application form for NEET 2025 was released online on February 7, 2025. The last date of application is March 7, 2025. Based on stakeholders' requests, NTA may extend or reopen the NEET 2025 registration and application window. NTA will provide a correction facility for the NEET 2025 applicants for three days from March 9 to March 11, 2025.
- NEET 2025 advance intimation of exam city slip: The advance intimation of examination city slip is a document carrying the exam city name, released before the admit card. NTA will release the NEET 2025 city allotment slip by April 26, 2025.
- NEET 2025 admit card date: The NEET 2025 admit card will be released by May 1, 2025, approximately three to four days before the exam date. The NEET admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the NEET exam centre and must be preserved till the counselling process is over.
- NEET 2025 exam date: The NEET 2025 exam will be held on May 4, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM, Indian Standard Time (IST) across the designated exam centres located in India and abroad.
- NEET 2025 answer key date: NTA will release the NEET 2025 provisional answer keys and OMR response sheets in the fourth week of May 2025, within a few weeks of conducting the exam. The challenge or objection submission window will be opened on the same date of releasing the provisional answer keys and will close within three to four days. The final NEET 2025 answer keys will be released by the second week of June 2025, along with the result.
- NEET 2025 result date: NTA is likely to release the NEET 2025 result and scorecard by June 14, 2025. NTA announced the NEET result date for 2025 in the information bulletin. The NEET 2025 cutoff will also released along with the NEET result, in the scorecard and the official press release. In the NEET merit list, NTA releases the NEET city and centre-wise result data, total number of candidates appearing and marks obtained by them. In general, NTA releases NEET result within a month of conducting the exam.
- NEET 2025 counselling: The counselling for NEET 2025 is likely to begin in the fourth week of July 2025. The entire duration of NEET counselling 2024 is scheduled for three to four months, till November 2025. There will be four to five rounds of NEET counselling. NTA’s role is over with the release of the NEET scorecards.
