NEET 2025 Exam Date (May 4): Registration (Feb 7-March 9), Exam, & Result Dates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET 2025 exam date on February 7, 2025. The exam will be conducted on May 4, 2025, it is as per the expected date based on last year's trends. Along with the NEET 2025 exam date, NTA has announced the complete schedule of events or the NEET 2025 important dates. The NEET 2025 registration process has also started on February 7, and will go on till March 7, 2025.

According to NTA a candidate can appear for NEET any number of times. There is no restriction on the number of attempts permitted. Moreover, ever since the upper age limit of NEET has been removed, there is even more flexibility in terms of the number of NEET attempts.

The exam is conducted once a year, hence candidates can appear only once in an academic year. But unless candidates fulfil the eligibility criteria, they would not be able to get admission even if they score the qualifying cutoff marks for NEET.

As expected, NEET 2025 exam will be conducted on May 4, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM. NTA announced the exam date through an official notice along with the application form on February 7, 2025. 

As per the previous years' trends, it is expected that the NEET 2025 dates will be scheduled in the same timeline as last year. So far, there has been one change observed this year. While last year NEET exam date was announced in September 2023, along with a common exam calendar, this year, the date has not been announced even till January 2025. Based on the trends followed by NTA for other entrance exams, it is assumed that the NEET 2025 exam date will be announced along with the release of the application form approximately two months before the exam date, which is either fourth week of February 2025 or first week of March 2025. 

NTA has started the NEET 2025 registration on February 7, 2025. The last date of application is March 7, 2025. Based on student requests and other external factors, NTA may extend or reopen the NEET application window by mid-March. NEET 2025 will be conducted on May 4, 2025. NEET 2025 application process is being conducted online. Candidates have to fill and submit the application form in an online mode along with the payment of the application fee. 

The NEET 2025 admit card will be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) by May 1, 2025, approximately three to four days before the exam date. NEET 2025 will be held on May 4, 2025. Accordingly, the NEET admit card 2025 will be released on or before May 1, 2025. 

Prior to the release of the NEET admit card, NTA releases the advance intimation of exam city slip by April 26, 2025. The document mentions the city of the NEET exam centre allotted to candidates. Generally, NTA does not release the NEET admit card release date in advance. Candidates will have to log in to the NEET website with the registration credentials to download the admit card of NEET 2025. 

While NTA does not postpone the NEET exam date in general, it is common for NTA, the exam conducting authority to extend or postpone the dates of application form submission last date or the application correction last date. There have been instances in previous years where NTA had reopened the NEET application process or the NEET application correction window as a response to student requests or other internal reasons. On the other hand, last year, NTA had announced the NEET 2024 result date in advance, which was June 14, 2024, but was preponed by 10 days, and was released on June 4, 2024. Hence, the NEET 2025 important dates may get extended or postponed. 

NTA will release the NEET advance intimation to exam city slip by April 26, 2025. The document has to be downloaded online by logging in to the exam website with the registration credentials. The advance intimation to exam city slip carries the name of the city where candidates' NEET exam centre will be located. The actual exam centre address will be provided on the NEET admit card, which will be released on or before May 1, 2025. 

Although earlier NTA was mulling the idea of conducting NEET twice a year, now it has been confirmed that the exam will be held only once a year in a paper-pencil based mode. NTA communicated this information through an RTI response where it was stated that NEET will be conducted once a year. This has quashed the possibility of conducting NEET twice a year. However, the NTA expert committee headed by ISRO Chief K. Radhakrishnan has recommended conducting NEET twice a year, but there has not been any official confirmation on it yet.

Since 2023, NEET is being conducted in the first Sunday of May. Accordingly, it is expected that the NEET 2025 exam will be conducted on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 2 PM to 5.20 PM. 

As of now, the NEET 2025 exam date has not been announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NEET 2025 will be conducted on Sunday, May 4, 2025. As of now, there is no such information about the NEET 2025 exam getting postponed. In general, an exam date is postponed owing to external factors such as natural calamities, political unrest, pandemic or epidemic, elections, etc. Since the exam date has not been announced yet, and there is no such situations, it is likely that the exam will be conducted as per schedule and not get postponed or rescheduled.

It is important to complete the NEET 2025 application process by paying the requisite application fee. Unless a candidate pays the application fee, the process will not be considered to be complete and he/she will not be eligible to appear for the exam. After paying the application fee, candidates have to save and print the NEET 2025 application confirmation slip till the end of the admission process.

The duration of NEET exam is three hours. The exam will commence at 2 PM and conclude at 5 PM as per the Indian Standard Time (IST). The timing for the international centres varied as per the local timings. NEET is a continuous test with no breaks allowed in between. Candidates needed to report to the exam centre at least one hour prior to the exam timing. Moreover, candidates were not be allowed to leave the exam hall before the stipulated duration as well. This year, the total duration of the exam has been reduced by 20 minutes. Last year, the duration was 200 minutes and the timing was 2 PM to 5.20 PM.

Yes, there is a high chance of NTA to extend the last date of NEET 2025 application form submission. As per past years' trends, NTA extends or reopens the NEET application window every year, either as a response to student requests or due to some external factors such as server errors or non-functioanlity of exam website. However, candidates are advised not to wait till the last minute, or wait for the extension of application last date, and complete the process at the earliest possible. 

Last year, NTA released the NEET 2024 application form on February 9, 2024. The last date to register and pay the application fee was extended from March 9, 2024, to March 16, 2024, 10.50 PM. NTA reopened the NEET 2024 application window from April 9 to April 10, 2024, based on student and stakeholder requests. 

NTA will open the NEET 2025 application correction window from March 9 to March 11, 2025. The duration of NEET application correction is generally of two to three days. The application correction window is available only for candidates who will complete the NEET 2025 application process by paying the application fee. There are specific fields which will be available for edit and the rest of the fields will be uneditable, for both Aadhaar verified and Aadhaar non-verified candidates. Prior to starting the correction process, candidates have to check the list carefully and then proceed. There will not be an additional fee required for availing the NEET application correction facility unless there was a change of category impacting the application fee amount.
