Candidates should have an idea about percentile rank and percentage rank to understand overall ranking in NEET PG 2024. Q: Will NBE change NEET PG 2025 pattern?
There is no such reports stating that NEET PG 2025 pattern will be changed. NEET PG 2025 pattern will be released along with the official information brochure. Most probably there won't be any change for NEET PG 2025 pattern. Candidates are advised to prepare for the exam keeping the existing pattern in the mind. NEET PG exam is conducted in computer-based mode currently. The question paper will comprise 200 multiple choice questions and candidates will get 3.5 hours to attempt them.
Q: Will there be some changes in NEET PG 2025 pattern?
There is least chance National Board of Examinations (NBE) will make some changes in NEET PG 2025 pattern. The exam pattern is released along with the official information brochure online. For 2025-26 session, the exam pattern is likely to be released in the last week of March. The exam pattern comprises crucial details pertaining to exam including mode, medium, total number of questions, their type, and marking scheme.
Q: What is time bound sections in NEET PG exam?
NBE introduced time bound sections in NEET PG in 2024. It refers to fix time to attempt a particular section. Candidates have to exahusts allotted time of previous section before moving to next section. They can't choose to answer questions of any section as per their wish. In addition, one exahusted time of particular section, he/she can't go back and change answer in the section after time exahusts. As per time bound section, next section will start automatically once the allotted time exahusts. Whole NEET PG question paper is divided into 5 sections (A to E) with 40 questions each. The allotted time of particular section is 42 minutes.
Q: How will negative marking will affect overall score in NEET PG exam?
Negative marking will reduce the overall score and in turn overall ranking of candidate in NEET PG exam. For an example, out of 160 attempted questions, if candidate has 20 negative marking his/her overall mark will be 540. Had he/she left the question which he/she unsured about, score would be 560. Experts advise to leave those questions which you don't feel confident of right answer.

Yes. There is no difference at all. All questions will have esame negative marking irrespective of the section. As per the existing marking scheme, candidate gets +4 marks for right answer and -1 for negative response.
