AFCAT 2 Exam Analysis 2023

Indian Air Force conducted AFCAT 2 2023 exam to select Class-I Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. A total of 276 vacancies have been announced for the exam. AFCAT shift timings are 9.45 am to 11.45 am and 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm. The overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate. The General Awareness section was moderate. The Numerical Ability section was moderate. The Reasoning and Mental Ability section was easy. The English section was moderate. In 2022, the overall difficulty level of the AFCAT 2 exam was easy to moderate. Questions in General Awareness were asked from Ujjwala Scheme, Military Exercises, Name of the company that manufactures Tejas, Name of the aircraft that can carry Brahmos, etc.

In Numerical Ability, questions were asked about Profit & Loss, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, and Proportion. There were Arithmetic questions more. In English questions were asked from Antonyms, Synonyms, Idioms and Phrases, Fill in the Blanks, Jumbled Sentences. The Reasoning section carried questions based on the topics given in the syllabus. AFCAT 2 Student Reaction 2023 

Shiksha reported live from one of the AFCAT 2 exam centres in Dwarka. The exam in this centre started late due to some technical glitches. The exam got over at 1 pm. Candidates can check below the feedback shared by the students:

Umesh Kaushik said, "The overall difficulty level of the exam was easy. Maths and Reasoning papers were moderate. English paper was easy in terms of difficulty level. The General Awareness paper was moderate."

Ankit said, " The exam paper started late at our centre due to some technical glitches. The difficulty level of all the sections were easy."

Aman said, "The exam paper was moderate in terms of difficulty level. The English and Reasoning papers were moderate. There were a few lengthy questions in Maths."

AFCAT exam pattern is such that it comprises 100 questions from General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude test. The standard of AFCAT Maths syllabus is of high school level. While the standard of other subjects is of graduation level. The total marks allotted to AFCAT are 300. The marking scheme of AFCAT exam is given below:

  • For correct answers, candidates score three marks. The score of candidates is calculated after deducting AFCAT negative marking
  • There is AFCAT negative marking. One mark is deducted for every incorrect answer
  • No marks are allotted to unattempted questions
