CTET Exam Day Guidelines 2024

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is going to conduct the 19th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2024 exam on July 7, 2024. The CTET July 2024 exam will be held offline in pen and paper mode to determine the eligibility of candidates as primary and upper-primary level teachers. The board has allotted more than 230 exam centre cities across the country for the smooth conduction of the examination.

The CTET admit card 2024 will be released by the CBSE for the exam two days before the exam. Candidates need to carry the CTET admit card to the exam centre. During the conduct of the CTET 2024 exam, candidates need to follow certain rules and instructions as laid down by the board. Moreover, the board has announced special provisions for differently-abled (PwBD) candidates. Read further to know the CTET exam day guidelines 2024 and these special provisions.

CTET Exam Day Guidelines 2024

Have a look at the exam day instructions below to be followed by candidates during the conduct of the CTET examination:

  • The examination rooms will be opened at 7:30 am for shift 1 and at 12.30 pm for shift 2, that is, two hours before the exam. This is the shift-wise reporting time for the exam.

  • Candidates should take their seats immediately after the opening of rooms.

  • A seat indicating roll number will be allotted to each candidate. Candidates should look for their roll numbers and occupy their allocated seats only.

  • Candidates who come after the commencement of the exam will now be allowed to sit in the exam.

  • No candidate, without the special permission of the invigilator, will be allowed to leave his or her seat until the paper is over.

  • Smoking, chewing gutka, spiting, having tea/ coffee/ cold drinks or snacks are not allowed inside the examination rooms.

Important Things & Documents to Carry to the CTET Exam Centre

Documents and things that candidates need to carry to the allotted CTET exam centre 2024 are given below:

  • CTET admit card: The CTET admit card (also known as hall ticket) is a mandatory document to be carried to the test centre. Candidates not carrying their admit card on the day of the exam will not be allowed to give the paper. In case, a candidate forgets to carry his/her admit card to the centre, s/he is advised to take another printout from a nearby cyber café.
  • Photo ID proof: Along with the admit card, candidates must also carry a valid photo ID proof to the test centre such as a PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Passport, Driving License and Voter ID Card.
  • Ballpoint pen (blue/black) of good quality
  • Water bottle transparent (500 ml)

Things Not to Carry to the CTET Exam Centre 2024

While it is important to know the things and documents that candidates must carry to the test centre, it is equally important to be aware of the items that are prohibited inside the examination hall to avoid any unfair practices during the paper. Q:   In how many cities will the CTET 2024 exam be conducted?

A:

CTET 2024 exam will be held in a total of 236 exam centre cities across India. CBSE has published the list of CTET exam centre cities in the official notification. Candidates need to make choice of four exam cities while filling out the CTET application form 2024. The CTET 2024 exam centres are allotted by the CBSE on the basis of preferences chosen by the candidates.

Q:   How can I check my CTET exam centre?

A:

The CTET exam centres cities list is released by the CBSE in the official notification of the exam at ctet.nic.in. However, the exact CTET exam centre is intimated to candidates through their admit cards. Candidates can check the name and address of the CTET exam centre allotted to them by downloading their admit cards. Candidates need to follow the given steps to check CTET exam centre:

  • Visit the official website- ctet.nic.in
  • Click on the 'Download Admit Card for CTET 2024' link.
  • Enter the login details.
  • Download the CTET exam centre slip.

A:

The CTET exam date 2024 was December 14, 2024. The 20th edition of the CTET exam was conducted offline in pen and paper mode. The CTET notification 2024 was released in September 2024. The CTET Dec 2024 application began with the reelase of notification. The CTET 2024 exam will be held on a single day in two shifts for Paper 1 and Paper 2.

  • Any other item which could be used as unfair means and for hiding communication devices/gadgets.

Note: Candidates suffering from diabetes are allowed to carry eatables such as sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/orange). However, such candidates are not allowed to carry packed foods like chocolates/candy/sandwiches inside the exam hall.

CTET 2024: Special Instructions for PwBD Candidates

The following instructions are applicable for the differently-abled candidates during the CTET exam:

  • Differently, abled candidates will be given a compensatory time of 50 minutes for each paper.
  • The facility of scribe/amanuensis will be allowed to candidates who have a disability of 40 per cent or more if desired by them.
  • Candidates will be allowed for opting their scribe/amanuensis and no scribe will be provided by the Centre Superintendent
  • There will be no eligibility criteria for the scribe/ amanuensis.
  • Proper seating arrangements, preferably on the ground floor, should be made before the commencement of the exam.
  • Candidates shall also be allowed to take more than one scribe for writing different papers, especially in the case of language.
  • Since the exam is being conducted online, there will not be a separate CTET question paper for Visually Impaired (VI) candidates.

Note: Differently abled candidates need to bring the disability certificate to the exam centre to avail of the above relaxations.

A:

Candidates can check the CTET exam city and date by downloading their pre-admit cards. The CBSE releases the CTET pre-admit card around 10 days before the exam. Candidates can access the CTET 2024 pre-admit card or exam city intimation slip by entering their application number and date of birth when it becomes available on the portal. On the other hand, the CTET admit card is released two days before the exam on the official website of the exam - ctet.nic.in informing the candidates about the allotted exam centre.

CTET Dec 2024 notification was released on September 17, 2024 on the official website. The CTET notification 2024 is available as a PDF file containing the important exam details including the exam events, dates, application process, eligibility criteria, exam structure, exam applicability and so much more. The CTET 2024 application process began with the release of official notification. Candidates were advised to go through the notification carefully before applying online.

Q:   What is the timing of the CTET exam?

The CTET exam is conducted in two shifts for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 is held in Shift 2 and Paper 2 in Shift 1.
