CU Karnataka Admission Through CUET UG 2025: The National Testing Agency conducts the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) once a year across 500 cities in India and abroad. The CUET UG 2025 exam will be scheduled in May 2025. Central University of Karnataka provides admission to various undergraduate programmes through CUET UG. After the announcement of CUET UG results, CU Karnataka will release CUK CUET Cut Off 2025 on its official website - cuk.ac.in. The Central University of Karnataka also releases a merit list for Supernumerary Quota students (from the economically poorer section of society).

Supernumerary Quota (SNQ)* is a system followed by engineering/polytechnic colleges, wherein they reserve 5% of their seats over the actual seat matrix for the students from Economically Poorer Sections of the Society. These students pay reduced tuition fees.

Q:   How do I select the domain subjects for CUET UG?

A:

Before selecting the test or domain subjects, candidates are advised to visit the official website of university/organaisation they wish to apply for. Candidates must check the courses offered and eligibility test that they should appear in for admission to desired course. The choice of language/domain subject and General test will depend upon the course and university. Candidates will be able to opt for one or more tests as per the requirement of the course and university fro  the following sections:

  • Section IA - 13 Languages
  • Section IB - 20 Languages
  • Section II - 27 Domain Specific Subjects
  • Section III - General Test

It is not mandatory to choose any one or more of the tests stated above. The choice of tests would depend on the course/s opted by the candidate and the University / Organization / Institution where admission is sought. 

Q:   Can I opt for several subjects in section II of CUET to apply for various courses?

A:

Yes, an CUET applicant can opt for one or more combinations of the following:

  • Section I: Language Test
  • Section II: Domain subject test
  • Section III: General Aptitude Test

Candidates will be able to opt up to a maximum of five subjects in order to apply to different applicable courses that require these subjects for being eligible for admissions. Candidates can choose subjects irrresptive of subjects studied in 12th grade under their eligibility conditions for a particular programme.

Q:   Does CUET require OBC certificate?

A:

Yes, OBC candidates applying for CUET must upload the OBC-NCL certificate in online CUET application form. The OBC-NCL certificate must be issued in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If candidate fail to upload the OBC-NCL certificate (issued on or after 01 April, 2024) at the time of CUET 2025 registration, then in such case they will have to upload a declaration in lieu of OBC-NCl certificate to that effect. 

Candidates belonging to reserved categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by Government of India. However, in the case of central universities admission, the reservation criteria of the respective university shall be applicable.

Central University of Karnataka CUET UG Admission Process 2025

Candidates seeking admission at the Central University of Karnataka are suggested to read the instructions given below to understand its CUET admission process. Candidates are required to fill in their details as mentioned in the CUET Application Form 2025 (once the National Testing Agency opens the registration link) while logging in to the admission portal.

How to register on CU Karnataka portal?

Step 1: Visit the official website of Central University of Karnataka for CUET 2025 Admission - cukcuet.samarth.edu.in

Step 2: Click on "New Registration".

Step 3: Enter your CUET Application Number

Step 4: Enter your Date of Birth.

Step 5: Enter the Captcha

Step 6: Click on Register.

Step 7: You will receive an email at your registered email I'd from noreply@samarth.edu.in with a verification code to verify your registration.

Step 8: Enter the OTP to verift your account.

Step 9: Enter the Captcha

Step 10: Click on "Submit OTP".

Step 11: Once the account is verified successfully, log in to start the application process.

After registering yourself at the official website of CU Karnataka, you have to log in once again to fill out the application form. Follow the given below steps for the same:

Step 1: Click on the tab “Online Application Form”. Application Form page will open up.

Step 2: Under the "Registered User Login" Enter your CUET Application Number as username.

Step 3: Enter your secret password.

Step 4: Enter the Captcha & click on login.

Step 5: Click on “Complete Profile” to fill in the registration details (Profile, Other and document upload)

Step 6: Click on the tab "Apply in Programme".

Step 7: An 8-9 step Application Form will appear on the screen. Fill in the details accurately on each page and click on "Save and Next". The following information will be asked:

  • Programme selection
  • Preview of the personal details
  • Academic details
  • Other details
  • Uploading of the documents (Document/Certificate/Marksheet related size of the digital photo must be within 10 to 500kb limit.)
  • Preview your Application
  • Select payment gateway and make the Payment.

Step 8: Once the payment has been received by the University through the payment gateway, your Application Process will be complete.

Note:

  • All fields with (*) are mandatory as the Application Form will not be accepted otherwise.
  • Digital photos and Signature are required in .jpg or .jpeg image format. The file size of the digital photos must be within 10 to 500kb limit.
  • While filling the online application, if your browser closes unexpectedly or if you are logged out, please use the login credentials to login again. After login on home-page, you can view the already selected programme and click on “Submit Application” and resume the process.
  • You can check your payment status against the amount received by the University (if any), by logging in to the online application form again by clicking on the payment gateway where you have paid the application fee.
  • For a better view please use the laptop/desktop browser.

Central University of Karnataka Admission Through CUET 2025: Documents Required for Registration

Candidates registering themselves for admission at Central University of Karnataka must ensure to keep the following documents with them to avoid any delay in the registration process.

Q:   How do I apply for a college which requires CUET percentage even though am yet to give CUET?

A:

Candidates can apply for CUET score accepting colleges through CUET UG 2025 application form. While filling the application form, candidates will be required to enter the name of the preffered universities and courses in order of preference. On declaration of the CUET results, the scores will be shared with the unoversities for which candidate has applied. Basis on the score obtained candidate will be shortlisted for the applied course.

Q:   What is the criteria for admission via CUET exam?

A:

For admission in Universities through CUET (UG) - 2025, the existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences etc.. of the respective University / Institution shall be applicable. For appearing in CUET exam there is no age limit, however, candidates will be required to follow the age criteria (if any) prescribed the university in which candidate is desirous of taking admission. As the eligibility criteria for admission may be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the University website to which they are applying for their respective programs.

Mere appearance in the CUET exam will not guarantee admission to the programme untill the candidates has:

  • Studied subject (s) in major
  • Fulfilled the subject combination criteria

Q:   When can I apply for the CUET exam?

A:

National Testing Agency (NTA) will commence the CUET UG 2025 registrations at cuetug.ntaonline.in. Candidates desirous of taking admission to University/college through CUET must fill the application form before the deadline. On the release of the CUET notification important dates for CUET 2025 will be announced. CUET 2025 application process will be in online mode. Candidates will be required to fill the application form, upload documents and pay the application fee in online mode only. CUET is a gateway to more tahn 250 universities across India for its UG courses.

Q:   How many subjects can I choose for the CUET exam?

A:

From CUET UG 2025 onwards, candidates can now choose for five CUET subjects. Earlier, the subject choices were six. With the rediuction in number of CUET subjects, the choices have been reduced. Candidates can opt for five subjects from 23 domain subjects of any stream irrespective of subjects studied in class 12th. 

Q:   What is programme specific eligibility criteria in CUET?

A:

For admission to the desirous University/Institution, the candidates must appear in CUET 2025 in the Languages and Domain Specific subjects as per the Program-Specific Eligibility for which s (he) is desirous to take admission. For instance if candidate wishes to apply for B.Com (Hons.) programe in Delhi University he/she will be required to make the subject combination as :

Combination I: Any one Language from List A + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1
OR
Combination II: Any one Language from List A + Accountancy/Book Keeping + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1

Candidates are advised to check CUET programme specific eligibility criteria before filling the application form, failing which they will not qualify for further admission process. 

  • Passport-size Digital Photograph
  • Secondary School (Class 10th) Mark Sheet
  • Senior Secondary School/PUC-II (Class 12th) Mark Sheet or equivalent.
  • Valid Certificate for Date of Birth
  • Migration Certificate from last attended Board, if available
  • School Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate/, if available
  • Caste Certificates (ST/SC/OBC-NCL), EWS Certificates (if applicable, issued from the competent authority in GOI format).
  • Self-Declaration Form for those applying under OBC-NCL category, if applicable.
  • PWD/PH Certificate for those applying under the differently-abled category, (if applicable, issued from the competent authority in GOI format).
  • Certificate of Kashmiri Migrant & Kashmiri Pandits / Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-migrants) for those applying under the Kashmiri Migrant quota (if applicable, issued from the competent authority in GOI format).
  • Certificate(s) as a proof of Ward of Defence Category, if applicable
  • Certificate(s) of representing International, National or State level events in any sport/ game for those applying under sports quota, if applicable
  • Certificate(s) related to NCC/NSS Category, if applicable
  • Kalyan Karnataka Region (371J) Certificate, if applicable
  • Undertaking form in case of non-submission of any required Certificates.
  • Free-ship card for SC/ST candidates from free-ship sanctioning agencies, if applicable.

Central University of Karnataka Admission Through CUET 2025: Open Spot Counselling

Once all the merit lists are released, including SNQ Merit List, Central University of Karnataka releases a list of Vacant Seats for which the university schedules an open spot counselling in offline mode. The following candidates who could not get admission in the merit lists and SNQ lists are eligible for open spot counselling at Central University of Karnataka:

  • Candidates registered on CUK-Samarth Portal.
  • Unregistered candidates on CUK-Samarth Portal but with valid CUET UG scores.
  • Candidates shortlisted in previous merit list/s who could not get admission for any reason.
  •  Candidates with revised eligibility of domain test. Check ANNEXURE-1 for revised eligibility.

Note: Candidates with revised domain test will be considered for admission only after regular domain test candidates get exhausted in offline mode.
