What are Domain Subjects in CUET UG 2026?
Domain subjects in CUET 2026 are specific subject areas that students can select based on their target undergraduate course. Candidates have to select the domain subjects to pursue any discipline or stream, like Science, Commerce, and Arts. Selecting the appropriate domain subjects increases students' chances of admission to their chosen programme.
List of Domain Subjects in CUET UG 2026
According to the exam pattern, there are 23 domain subjects. The UGC removed six domain subjects, including Entrepreneurship, Teaching Aptitude, Legal Studies, Fashion Studies, Tourism, and Engineering Graphics, last year. However, the CUET universities offer admissions for the removed subjects through General Aptitude Test (GAT) Scores.
Each subject assesses a candidate’s knowledge and preparation for undergraduate courses in related fields. How many Domain Subjects are Compulsory in CUET UG 2026?
Based on the official notification released by the National Testing Agency, students are required to choose three or four CUET domain subjects from the list of 23 domain subjects. The exact number of domain subjects required for a UG course can depend on the following:
- Programme’s Structure and Focus: Specialized programmes may ask for a specific combination of subjects, while interdisciplinary or liberal arts programmes may provide more flexibility in subject choice.
- Language & GAT: CUET participating universities might also require candidates to take the General Test or a language test in addition to their domain subjects.
- University-wise Requirements: Different universities have different sets of compulsory domain subjects for a specific course.
Note - Candidates must ensure to select right subjects in their CUET online form as their no option in CUET correction window to edit subjects preference. NTA will open the correction window between February 02 and February 11, 2026, at cuet.nta.nic.in.

Yes, Manav Rachna University does accept CUET scores. While the university primarily considers the MRNAT score to shortlist students, it also considers other exams. CUET along with JEE, CLAT, UCEED, etc., are all accepted for admissions.
