The Maharashtra Agriculture Universities Examination Board (MAUEB) had conducted the Maharashtra Council of Agriculture Education and Research Common Entrance Test (MCAER CET) 2023 from July 22 to July 24. The entrance exam was conducted for admission to post-graduation courses including Master of Science (MSc), Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and, Master of Fisheries Science (MFSc) offered at the agriculture universities of the state. MCAER PG CET 2023 was conducted in a pen-paper based test mode. But before appearing for the entrance exam, candidates had to prepare for MCAER PG CET to score well. In this article, we have mentioned MCAER CET 2023 preparation tips to score well in MSc/ MTech/ MBA/ MFSc exam.Â
Know the exam pattern
The exam pattern of MCAER PG CET 2023 is the same as that of last year. Check it out:Â Â
- Exam mode- The exam is held in a pen and paper-based test for all subjects.
- Exam duration - The total duration of each paper is of two hours.Â
- Test medium - The questions are asked in the English language only.Â
- Type of questions - There are questions with four choices and, candidates were asked to select the correct answer.Â
- Total questions - All the papers had a total of 200 questions based on the subject.Â
- Total marks - The total marks allotted for the MCAER PG CET question paper was 200 marks
- Marking scheme - For each correct attempt, one mark will be awarded. No marks will be deducted in case of wrong attempts.Â
Know the syllabus
Given below is the syllabus of MCAER PG CET 2023 for students reference. Last year, the paper had 80 per cent of questions on the syllabus of mainstream and, 20 per cent of questions on the syllabus of other subjects. The question paper for each subject was based on the following topics:Â

MCAER PG CET 2023 Preparation Strategy
Candidates appearing for MCAER PG CET 2023 have to prepare a strategy, to begin with. This should include, a study plan, books and prep material as well as mock test papers to complete.Â
Devote time for preparation - Candidates should devote at least two hours a day (real-time test timings) to prepare for the entrance exam. Consistent preparation will help candidates score well in the examination. The question paper level of MCAER PG CET 2023 will be graduation only and, all the topics will be what candidates had studied for the past three years now. Therefore, candidates need not panic and, aim to score well in the exam with regular practice.Â
Clear concepts with help of books - Go through the syllabus of MCAER PG CET 2023, list out the easiest topics and difficult topics as per your knowledge. For easy topics, revise once or twice and move ahead by practising mock papers on the topics. For difficult concepts, candidates need to understand the fundamentals at least as there will be objective type of questions and no negative marking in the examination. So if the candidates have sufficient knowledge of the topics asked in the examination, it will be easier to attempt. In the remaining days, candidates can prep up by solving questions papers from the past years or relevant science entrance exams.Â

Practice question papers or mock test papers - Candidates should practice at least three to four mock tests papers to know their preparation level and also do an analysis. The mock-test papers are based on the exam pattern of MCAER PG CET and, by practising these candidates will know the difficulty level of the exam as well as the key areas they need to work on. In the last two weeks remaining for MCAER PG CET, it is advised that candidates only focus on their strengths and, not to start any difficult topics now as this will only increase the exam stress.
