Beautiful campus, good faculty, excellent infrastructure, and hostel facilities.
Placements: No placements were provided on the Tapesia Campus because the courses aren't professional. However, placements were provided for MBA and engineering students on the Azara campus and students from Tapesia Campus were also allowed to go. Job fairs are the minimum but there are plenty of seminars held that teach you about the career opportunities and prospects, along with building relationships with professors or professionals in the respective fields. There is no direct placement and nobody was recruited from our class.
Infrastructure: Apart from the campus, it is truly one of the best campuses in the whole of the northeast, with its tea garden and beautiful lakes, along with the vast forest of the Amhung Sanctuary. There is peace and quiet on campus, always away from the bustling city. The classrooms are fully equipped with projectors and screens. The Wi-Fi is weak. There are multiple labs for a student to carry out experiments. The library isn't well stocked with Zoology courses. There are 5 girl hostels, of which 3 are reserved for Masters students and the other 2 are for Bachelor students. During my course of study, I was allotted the Poinsettia hostel, which is well furnished and clean overall. A person has to share their room with 3 other people. They will be provided with a table with an attached bed and wardrobe. There is no mess and the food is to be bought from the canteen by buying it every day. The toilets and bathrooms are cleaned by the students. There is a gym and a terrace. There is no AC but all 4 individuals will have their own fans. Wi-Fi is not great. There is a hostel week every year, which is conducted by the students themselves and is a lot of fun. Overall, the vibe of the hostel and the memories will live on forever.
Faculty: The faculty is very knowledgeable and they take classes regularly. They are very kind and clear all the doubts a student may have. All teachers are Ph.D. holders and some are in the process of getting it. The teachers are very friendly and always ready to help, not only in studies but also any problem that a student may have. The course curriculum is CBCS-based and the UGC guidelines are followed. There is botany as an electives for semester 1 and 2 and Chemistry as an electives for Semester 3 and 4. For 5 and 6, the focus is on the Core Subjects. There is Class Test 1 and Class Test 2, which are of 20 marks and the average or best is taken for the internal assessment of 40 marks; the rest of the internal assessment depends upon attendance, non-formal assignments, etc. The final exam is 100 marks, covering all chapters. A student must pass both the internal assessment and the final assessment. There's a grade system.
Other: I chose this course because of the relative nature of the subject to human beings. It has taught me everything about all the organizes, from the smallest of them, like the amoeba, to the biggest whale. It continues to pique my interest as I continue studying it. I wish more practical classes were held for this course. There is Boscociad, which is conducted every year and has all the competitions organized by all the clubs: dance, Music, Drama, Arts, Sports, Literary and respective clubs of all the departments. Apart from these, there are various seminars held throughout the year and festivals. I was a Merit Scholar student for which I got 10,000 every semester because of my 80% above marks but of the student has 90% marks, they are eligible for 25,000; however, this is open to only 2 students per semester. The toppers of the class who have the highest CGPA get 1000 in a ceremony.
