AMU offers MSc as a two-year postgraduate programme offered in the full-time mode. To be eligible to pursue MSc at AMU, candidates must have scored at least 55% in Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline. Hence, a candidate scoring less that 50% in their graduation degree is not eligible to apply for the programme. Such candidates can pursue MSc at some other college or university. Aligarh Muslim University accepts Persian/4 exam to shortlist candidates for admission to seven undergraduate courses.

Candidates seeking admission to any of the above-listed courses need to fill out the CUET application form through the CUET official website to appear for the entrance exam. Apart from CUET, the candidates also need to register on the AMU official website for application form, counselling and Persian/9

There is no such provision for direct admission to any of the programmes offered at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). Yes, Aligarh Muslim University admission to most of the courses is based on CUET scores. Admission to AMU undergraduate courses including  BSc (Hons.) Community Science, BA (Hons/Research), BVoc in Production Technology, Polymer and Coating Technology and Fashion Design & Garment Technology and BSc (Hons/Research) is completely based on valid Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) scores. From the academic session 2022, all the central universities along with a few state-deemed universities and private universities started accepting CUET scores for admission to their UG and PG courses.

AMU conducts its own entrance test called Aligarh Muslim University Common Admission Test (AMU-CAT) for admission to the MBA course. The Admission Test shall be held at Aligarh, Kolkata & Kozhikode. Based on the marks secured by the candidates in the AMU-CAT entrance test, a merit list for admission will be drawn. Candidates whose names appear in the merit list released by the University are then required to appear for the Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD & PI) round. The final selection is based on the candidates' performance in the counselling process, conducted by AMU.

The total tuition fee for a BSc at AMU is INR 36,000. However, students might have to pay additional charges depending upon their chosen specialisation. Other components included in the AMU fees are hostel fees, medical insurance, mess and other security deposits, etc. It must be noted that the mentioned fee is subject to change and hence, is indicative.

In terms of placements, AMU has maintained a good record for Law courses. As per the NIRF report 2023, the highest median package offered during 2022 placements was INR 12.30 LPA and was made to BA LLB students.
