Our college campus is a great place to learn.
Placements: All the students are placed from different streams. The highest salary package is 36 LPA, the lowest salary package is 4 LPA, and the average salary package is 7.5 LPA. Recruiting companies like Infosys, Grapecity, Amdocs, and many more. Roles like data analyst, java developer, etc., are offered.
Infrastructure: Campus has good infrastructure providing Wi-Fi, air-conditioned rooms, and labs. Classrooms are big and well ventilated. There are various departments in this college with great facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members are very kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and support the student in every condition. They understand the problems properly. The curriculum was up to date and is according to top priority languages in the tech world so that we are ready for the industry needs.

It is an average college for M.Tech course.
Placements: If you are looking for placement in mechanical companies, surely you are going to regret this. But we did get chances to apply in many non-tech companies. During the entire course, only one company of mechanical come to offer an internship, and I was the only one to get an internship from Heat Power. But you will get chances in non-tech companies.
Infrastructure: You can't complain about the infrastructure of the college. Though it is an old college, the infrastructure is good and maintained. Similarly, hostels buildings are also old. Wi-Fi is provided on campus, but i is not covered fully. Labs are also good. Classrooms are awesome. The library on the campus is also good. The food served in the hostel mess is average.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members in our college are the best, and a few are worst. We can rate 8-9 for good faculty members and 2-3 for others. So you have to be serious about your studies and have to study very hard to gain knowledge.
Other: I got NIT Durgapur, but I chose BIT Mesra for heat power branch since I didn't get thermal in NIT due to low GATE score.

Review of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.
Placements: Almost 70% of the students got placed. The salary package offered is around 3 LPA. Infosys, Cognizant and IBM were the top recruiters. None of the students got an internship from college. All the students were offered basic roles like system engineer in IT companies in Infosys. We were allowed only for IT companies placements but not for core companies.
Infrastructure: The campus was huge, with quarters for faculty members and staff members. Classrooms were good, and the library was big and had a large collection of books for various streams. Laboratories were well-equipped. Hostel rooms were clean, and food quality was regularly monitored. A small hospital and ambulance were also available inside the campus. Indoor games were available in the hostel, like carrom and table tennis.
Faculty: Teachers here were helpful, well-qualified and were always approachable whenever required. They also had a good grasp over their subjects and were quite knowledgeable. The course curriculum was well-planned, and laboratories helped in gaining practical knowledge.
Other: I did my B.Tech in electrical engineering and found control system quite interesting, so I decided to do a masters on the subject. Some faculty members could have been better. The college organised excellent events and encouraged us for extracurricular activities.

I am lucky and proud to be student of BIT.
Placements: Our institute provided me with so many opportunities for internships. Moreover, post placement assurance in different MNCs like Oracle, Nvidia, Cognizant, and so on. I got an offer from Oracle. So BIT is superb in providing placements. The important thing is that the institute provided me with placement training and personality development training.
Infrastructure: The college offers a friendly environment for study. Classrooms are digital. The library has approximately 5000 books, e-books, and IEEE subscriptions for us which helped me in my research work. The auditorium is highly equipped and I received my M.Tech degree there.
Faculty: Faculty members at BIT are too good, highly qualified, rich experienced, very helpful, and always supportive. I must tell you my experiences about my guide and mentor Dr Anup Kumar Keshri. He gave me all knowledge on how to do and what to do. He was always ready for help in my research during day and night. So all faculty members are very supportive.

Dissatisfied with the management, horrible placements for master's students. Campus is beautiful.
Placements: If you are a student looking to get enrolled in a bachelor's course (B.Tech/B.E), then placements are definitely a point to consider. This year, few juniors got placed in reputed companies like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs with CTC of around 24 LPA to 30 LPA while several others were recruited by various companies like Byju's, ZS associates, etc., with an average package of around 6 LPA. Six-month internships may also be provided with an average stipend of Rs. 25,000 per month. But if you're someone who is aiming for a master's course like (M.E/M.Tech but not MBA as MBAs get comparatively good placements), then you will be disappointed. For master's students, this college invites companies just for formality where most of the students are rejected, harassed unnecessarily, and terms and conditions, interview venue/timings are changed at any time, so that students give up eventually. The average salary package offered for masters can be as low as 3 LPA, but for MBAs, it's around 3 LPA to 4 LPA, and almost 70% of them get placed. The worst case scenario is for ME/M.Tech, M.Sc Biotechnology, GIS, and CAAD students, and no core company come for placements. They are made to attend the placement drives of low-grade IT companies, sales jobs, etc. When students go to the training and placements section for job enquiries, the only thing they get is ill-treatment.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is comparatively good, especially when it comes to the main building. The classrooms are really spacious and well-furnished with state-of-art facilities. But other buildings are not well-maintained. Hostels are good, but again, hostels for master's students are neglected very much in comparison to hostels for bachelor's students. BIT Mesra is really bad with its toilet facilities. The sports centre is well-maintained, but the men's gym has mostly old or broken equipment. From the research point of view, this college has a very good infrastructure with lots of state-of-art instruments. The library is very spacious but full of old and torn books. The Wi-Fi service is horrible.
Faculty: Some teachers are really helpful and knowledgeable, but some are very bad. They hardly care about anything other than their handsome paychecks. The worst part about this place is the non-academic staff and the management. Even the government sector has better staff and management than this place. The only thing they know is how to harass students. If you want to get a simple thing done, you will be made to run from here to there unnecessarily, and it might even take a week.
Other: The fest Bitotsav is grand, but they charge students Rs. 1,200 every year. For clubs and events, students will be charged Rs. 900 every year. When it comes to money, BIT Mesra's only motive is to take as much money as they can from their students. Scholarship facilities are very bad. BIT Mesra also has a dispensary and provides round the clock ambulance service. The dispensary has doctors almost 24x7, but only basic medicines are provided. The campus is beautiful, and some places are really well-maintained like the upper lawn.

A large green campus with great infrastructure and good teachers.
Placements: Placements in the college are really good. A lot of good companies and other companies visit the campus for placements. Placements for the masters' students are less than that of B.Tech students. The college is located 21 kilometres away from Ranchi. Placements for the M.Tech students are less compared to B.Tech ones. Many companies such as Mahindra, etc., visit the campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite good. The campus has a lot of greenery which gives a good feeling. The college is surrounded by a river. It is located in a village called Mesra which is about 21 kilometres away from Ranchi. The college is spread over 1,000 acres. There are a total of 14 hostels, and the environment is good.
Faculty: Faculty members in college are good and have quite a deep knowledge of their subjects. There are a number of departments present here. The students studying in this college are also knowledgeable. There are many departments like mechanical, civil, electrical, etc.
Other: The most awaited event conducted in the college is Bitotsav for which the students wait for a year.

Q:   Is BIT Mesra good for M.E./M.Tech?

    A:
    {Source: M.E./M.Tech students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

    Pros:

    * Faculty members are generally knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive.
    * Campus infrastructure is good, with modern classrooms, libraries, and labs.
    * Many companies visit the campus for placements, offering decent salaries.
    * Research-oriented infrastructure and facilities are available.

    Cons:

    * Placement opportunities for M.E./M.Tech students are limited, with fewer companies visiting the campus compared to B.Tech students.
    * Salary packages for M.E./M Tech students are lower, averaging around INR3 Lacs per annum.
    * Non-core companies often dominate the placement scene, leaving fewer options for students seeking core engineering jobs.
    * Management and non-academic staff can be unhelpful and bureaucratic at times.
    * Scholarship facilities are scarce and inadequate.

In conclusion, while BIT Mesra has its strengths in terms of faculty and infrastructure, the placement scenario for M.E./M.Tech students leaves room for improvement. Students pursuing these courses may face challenges finding suitable job opportunities after graduation. However, it's essential to weigh these concerns against the overall reputation and academic excellence of the institution before making an informed decision.
