A:

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for M.Sc. Programs at BIT Mesra

Based on the reviews and feedback provided by students and alumni, here's a summary of the effectiveness of the placement cell for M.Sc. programs at BIT Mesra:

* Limited Opportunities: According to several students, the placement cell is not effective for M.Sc. programs, especially for departments like Integrated Master of Science (IMSc) Chemistry, where only a few students got placed in the 2015 batch.
* Few Recruiters: Many students mentioned that companies like Microsoft and Goldman Sachs recruit students from circuital branches, but rarely visit the campus for M.Sc. programs.
* Low Placements Rate: One student reported that out of his class, only 2 students got placed in the cement industry, indicating a low placement rate for M.Sc. programs.
* Teqip Cell: A few students mentioned that the Teqip cell provides internships with Teqip cell companies or IITs, but the placement cell is primarily not focused on physics aspirants.
* No Guarantee: Alumni warned that even for B.Tech courses, BIT Mesra does not guarantee 100% placements, let alone for M.Sc. programs.

In conclusion, the effectiveness of the placement cell for M.Sc. programs at BIT Mesra is limited, with few opportunities available for students. While the college may focus more on other departments, it is essential for prospective students to understand the reality of placements before making decisions.

Students are burdened too much because the exams are conducted back to back, and it must be changed.
Placements: Very few companies visited our college for placements. Companies that visit our college offer very less salary packages compared to the college reputation. There are few chances of getting a good salary package from here. In case you choose this college, you have to opt for off-campus placements. For B.Tech students, the placements are good, but for Biotechnology students, the placements are not good as much.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are good. The buildings are very good. The college is located in a good place. There is greenery all around the college. It has a Wi-Fi facility with good speed. Our college doesn't have air-conditioning system in any of the classroom.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The teachers are always ready to solve our problems at any time. This course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course as it has a good scope and provides skill development. The best thing about this course is that one can enter either the private or government field.

Mesmerizing campus life but ain't satisfied with the course curriculum.
Placements: Campus placements are the highest for the CS students in BIT Mesra whereas placements aren't so good for M.Sc. Biotechnology students. Expectations shouldn't be kept high. Companies like Byjus and other pharma companies come in for recruitment. I hope this changes.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are very nice in comparison to other institutes. Mess food is good too at least for my hostel (variation could be seen since there are 13+ hostels). You get LAN ports in your room and campus Wi-Fi available everywhere. The library and classrooms are nice and decent enough. Lab facilities are decent enough.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They will give you recommendations for any kind of internship or training work happily without any hesitation. The course content has to be changed a bit. Industrial visits should be arranged readily so that there is well-balanced exposure. Practical knowledge is much more necessary than theoretical.

I am satisfied with environment, and it provides many opportunities for students' future.
Placements: There are no specific placements, but Byju's and education companies visit here to hire students. They offer a salary package of 6 LPA. Opportunities are huge, and students can get valuable recommendations for internships under any college. Project works are given and guided for the final year students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is huge, very good and spacious. The college provides very good labs, smart classrooms and a huge library which is open till 9 at night. Hostel food quality is superb as compared to other college hostels. Internet facility at hostels is provided, which is free with LAN cables, and students only need to login by the given user name and pass from college.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly educated, qualified, very good and helpful. All of them have great knowledge in their respective fields. Teaching quality is very good, and no one is left behind. The course curriculum is not professional, but it can lead someone who is interested in the research field or one who wants to pursue a career in education.

The best place for pursuing higher studies.
Placements: My super senior batch had 3 placement drives, but most of them chose their higher education, and one of them is even studying in IIRS, Dehradun. 30% of the students get placed every year. The highest salary offered was 7 LPA and the lowest salary offered was 3 LPA. Companies including IBM visited our campus and recruited students.
Infrastructure: The labs are well equipped. The library is a resource for the books. The classrooms are airy and spacious. Dispensary caters to the immediate first-aid requirements, and the sports and games complex is a huge one. Single rooms are provided for accommodation to boys in the hostel and double room sharing to girls. The hostels are extremely good, but the food provided needs to be improved.
Faculty: The course curriculum is very useful for higher studies. Most of the faculty members are well qualified and knowledgeable both in theory and practice. Mainly, the smart classroom teaching method is followed along with traditional whiteboard teaching.

BIT Mesra gives you a Brand tag.
Placements: BIT Mesra is known for its brand value. Placements are quite good though our branch is very specific in nature, many PSUs come to campus for hiring and students get decent packages. Under our course structure,we have to go through internship programme in any reputed organisation.
Infrastructure: BIT Mesra has a huge campus. Hostel has all the necessary facilitates available, basic medical first aid facility is available 24x7. Mess is mess, food is a little above than average. Classrooms are huge with all basic stuff, library has a huge collection of books, magazines and editorials.
Faculty: Course structure is very well designed and credit are well distributed. Attendance rule is very strict and professor also very rigid on this. Although faculty are very helpful and interesting. There is Choice based Credit System (CBCS) pattern for examination.
Other: Every year, the college organizes yearly fest "BITOTSAV". Campus life is pretty chill.
