Hindustan University BTech Courses & Fees 2025: Admission Dates, Placements & Eligibility

The total fee for HITS Chennai is cumulative of several components, such as tuition fees, caution money, hostel fees, insurance, etc. Students have to pay the admission fees after the final selection. Candidates seeking admission to the BTech programmes of HITS must have the required educational qualifications. The aspirants who are Class 12 pass with at least 50% aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects can apply. Additionally, the minimum aggregate for reserved categories is 45% aggregate. Moreover, to get in the BTech (Lateral Entry) courses, aspirants must have a Diploma with at least 50% aggregate in Engineering/Technology. In addition, the graduates with at least 50% aggregate in Science and Mathematics as one of the main subject can also apply for lateral course. Candidates must hold the relevant documents for admission as well.

Hindustan University offers a four-year BTech course. Apart from this students can also get direct admission to the second year of BTech through Lateral Entry. The university offers two additional subject options in collaboration with IBM. At Hindustan University, the curriculum of the course is designed in such as way that it helps students to get both theoretical and practical learning, which get possible with the help if Funded Research Projects and many industrial collaborations. The placement cell of the university is also very active. In 2024, NIRF has ranked the university #113 in the "engineering" category.

At the UG level, Hindustan University offers a four-year BTech course across 15 specialisations, including two specialisations, which are offered in collaboration with IBM. These specialisations are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, CSE (in collaboration with IBM), etc. These specialisations are further divided into multiple sub-specialisations.

Hindustan University admit candidates to the BTech courses based on merit in HITSEEE. This entrance test is conducted by the university in online mode every year. The HITSEEE exam include 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There are a total of three sections in the paper - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics comprising 40 questions each. Moreover, the entrance exam is conducted for 1 hour (60 minutes) only.

HITS Chennai BTech admission process shall commence with the release of HITSEEE application. The application form has to be submitted before the deadline. HITSEEE application form is expected to be released in Dec and the application window will be open till Apr. Moreover, the entrance exam will be conducted in May 2025.
