IIIT-Delhi Designs Mobile Application to Create Awareness Against COVID-19

April 14, 2020: IIIT Delhi - Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology has designed an android mobile application named ‘WashKaro’ to create awareness among the society about the Coronavirus. The app acts as a complete infodemic control system and was also presented at World Health Organisation (WHO), Geneva on April 8, through video conferencing. The users can listen or read the information from government advisories.

Benefits of application includes:

  • A Symptom Tracker for people to know if they are safe. There is also an in-built CovidTracer, a tool that tells people if they are near to any COVID-19 positive person. The technology uses a Bluetooth connection for establishing communication. It does not require and data connection or storage space on the device
  • Use of Artificial Intelligence technology to cross-refer news with WHO documents. This ensures that people are shielded from fake information and hoaxes

In addition, IIIT has also released a website called CoronaActionIndia

In addition, IIIT has also released a website called CoronaActionIndia, a revamped portal that houses all policy updates and validated information along with a dashboard to make it easy to navigate.

The creation of patient management and tracking tool is another successful initiative. Given the increasing number of patients every day, it can be helpful to have an organised online ledger that can track and monitor the affected individuals. The information is sourced from trusted sources such as WHO, public advisories from ICMR and reputed institutions such as AIIMS, New Delhi.

Overall good for study, but if you're interested in sports, you may be disappointed by facilities.

Placements: My batch is 2023, and in my batch, the placement rate last year was approximately 92%. It is very good among all colleges, but there are heavy workloads in IT. The lowest package from TCS was 3.6 LPA, and the highest this year, so far, is 51 LPA, by Microsoft to 13 students, all of whom received PPOs.

IIIT Delhi: Honest Review.

Placements: Due to strict eligibility criteria, many students don’t get placed and are often not allowed to sit for placements. These students are not included in the placement statistics, which leads the college to report a placement rate of 98.81%. For example, TCS recently visited the campus and set a minimum eligibility criterion of 8.5 CGPA, offering a package of 4.5 LPA. The highest packages go up to crores, but these are typically for overseas placements. Most domestic placements offer an in-hand sal...

Very hard to sustain because of many deadlines, but really good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: Our college is best for placement if you're capable of studying. Placement percentage is around 65% this year, which is good as this year was very different. My branch has the highest placement percentage, which is around 80%. Many companies are there, such as Goldman Sachs, Winzo, etc. Software engineer and many high-level roles were offered.

IIITD College walkthrough.

Placements: Great placement stats, almost 100 percent students with an average package of 18 LPA. All companies are either A or A+ tier. Top recruiters include Google, Microsoft, and BNY. Top roles offered are SWE, SDE, and analyst. Around 70 percent of the batch got internships within 1 semester.

Good infrastructure and a hard curriculum at IIITD.

Placements: Around 90% of students were placed from IIITD this year. The highest package was around 50 LPA, and the average package for all branches was 18 LPA, while for CSE it was 22 LPA. The internship season is a bit off for this semester compared to previous year data due to the ongoing recession. Top roles offered are in tech companies like Google, Microsoft, Jio, etc., primarily as software engineers.
