IIIT Delhi provides international placements to students. The key international placement highlights are mentioned below:

Candidates need to be Class 12 pass with minimum 70% aggregate in five subjects including Physics, Maths and Chemistry and 70% in Mathematics in Class 12 from a recognised board to become eligible for the BTech programme. Moreover, the aspirant should have passed the qualifying exam from a recognised board. During the form filling and at the time of admission, candidate must hold the pass certificate for verification purposes.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam takes place in the month of April every year. Whereas, the application form for Session 2 will be available on the JEE Mains website. The exam is conducted by NTA.

In 2022, the cutoff ranks for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering at IIIT Delhi other than General category was - 11759 for OBC, 45090 for SC, 61386 for ST, and 5266 for EWS. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female. 

JEE Main rank is accepted by both DTU and IIT Delhi, followed by the JAC Delhi counselling process for admission to various BTech specialisations. According to the JAC Delhi Round 1 cutoff 2025, the closing rank for CSE admission for the General AI category was 2285. While for IIT Delhi it was 8171.

Therefore, going by the cutoff for both institutions, IIT Delhi is relatively easier for CSE admissions. Although those candidates who qualified for DTU can view other parameters to consider for a better, more knowledgeable decision.

As per the NIRF 2024 ranking under the “Engineering” category, IIIT Delhi ranks 85 among the top Engineering institutes of the country. The total fee for MTech in IIIT Delhi ranges between INR 3.7 lakh and INR 6 lakh. NIT Trichy MTech fee is INR 1.4 lakh. As per placement statistics, the median package is recorded to be INR 18.17 LPA for IIITD and INR 7 LPA for NIT Trichy. Hence, it can be concluded that the fee is higher at IIITD. It must be noted that the fee given for both institutes is as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is still subject to changes and hence, is indicative. But, this institute also has got a good ranking as per a recognised ranking body. Thus, if given a choice, IIIT Delhi is a better option than NIT Trichy.

IIIT Delhi is ranked 5 among Engineering colleges in Delhi and 85 among Engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework  in 2024. It is also ranked 351-400 in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023.

IIIT Delhi admit candidates to a few courses without any entrance examination. For example, the institute admits candidates to the BTech CSSS programme based on their performance in Class 12 or an equivalent examination. DTU ranks 29 and IIIT Delhi ranks 85 as per the NIRF ranking 2024 under the “Engineering” category. The total tuition fee for BTech is INR 3 lakh – INR 6.4 lakh at DTU and INR 18 lakh at IIIT Delhi. The highest domestic and international package offered during IIIT Delhi BTech placements 2024 stood at INR 49 LPA and INR 109 LPA, respectively. Additionally, in DTU, the highest package offered in 2022 was INR 64.23 lakh. Considering the mentioned data, DTU is definitely a better choice for BTech course aspirants.

The cutoff in 2024 for the all-India quota ranged from 6695 to 9975. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Admission to BTech in Computer Science and Biosciences in IIIT Delhi is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE.
