Placements: Easy way to get job. Senior are doing job in different company with pay scale of 75-90 K pm after completing their Ph.D. Mostly they are working in R&D sector of the company mainly from Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi. They use to visit after the end of semester. Any one can apply for placement.
Infrastructure: Full Wi-Fi in Campus 24*7. Library open from 10 am to 10 pm. Indoor games like TT, carrom, chess are available in each and every hostel. Outdoor games courts are near Main ground of the campus. These include Tennis, volleyball, Hockey, handball, squash courts etc.
Faculty: Helpful faculty, courses are very much effective in real life. Maximum teachers did their B.Tech, M.Tech or Ph.D. from IITs, NITs or even from Foreign Universities like MIT, Oxford etc. There are two semesters in the year viz- autumn and summer semester. Maximum courses are run by individual departments except one or two courses which are run by the institute. Everyone has to attend institute courses one time through their IIT life during coursework.
Other: Campus is mainly near to kanjurmar railway station. There are three gates - Main gate , YP gate and lake side gate. Techfest is the biggest technical festival in IIT Bombay whereas cultural events includes PAF, cultural nights, prom night etc.

Q:   Is it compulsory to stay in hostel in IIT Bombay?

A: 

No, it’s not compulsory for regular scholars to stay in the hostel for studying at IIT Bombay. Also, not every student gets a hostel facility. However, students who get enrolled in summer and winter internships have to stay in a hostel during the tenure of their internship. Interns who get the hostel are required to complete the formalities such as registration, payment of internship fees, etc., with the academic office of the institute.
