A: 

IIT Bombay MSc cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1, wherein, M.Sc.+ in Applied Geology is the most competitive specialsiation with a closing rank of 16 for the General AII India category students. The least competitive course is M.Sc.+ Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering with a cutoff rank of 643. So, candidates seeking admission to any of the MSc course must secure a rank upto 643 to be eligible for IIT Bombay.

IIT Bombay admissio to the MSc course is based on IIT JAM scores, followed by IIT JAM counselling process. Only candidates in the JAM 2024 Merit List based on JAM 2024 scorecard will be eligible to apply for admission.

IIT Bombay offers admission to MSc course based on IIT JAM score followed by CCMN Counselling. The seat allotment is carried out based on document verification, seat intake, and category of the students, during the counselling. Faculty members of IIT Bombay are gems.
Placements: The students become eligible for placements in their last semesters. Nearly 1800 students get placed every year and more than 300 companies visit. The highest package offered is around 2 crores and the average package is around 16 Lacs. Profiles offered are that of software developer, consultancy, Logistics, and Analytics. Nearly 90% students get placed.
Infrastructure: The hostels are world-class. The students get a shared room (double occupancy) in their first to third year, and they get a single room in their last semester. The mess food is really good and gives a balanced diet. Hostels are allotted at the beginning of a session by Hall managers. IIT Bombay is situated in Powai.
Faculty: There are a total of 27 faculty members in our department of Biosciences and Bioengineering. The total number of students in M.Sc. are 28 and in M.Tech are 25. All the faculty members are the real gems of our department and will guide you in the best way possible. They have in-depth knowledge of their subjects as they all are highly qualified (Min. Post Doc and Chair Prof).
Other: Asia's biggest fest ‘MOOD INDIGO’ is organized in December and the ‘TECH FEST’ is organized in February.

Q:   Can I join IIT Bombay after Class 12?

A: 

Admission to the institute after Class 12 is open for BTech, BS and BDes courses. After completing Class 12, candidates must qualify JEE Main, JEE Advanced followed by the JoSAA Counselling for BTech and BS courses. For BDes, UCEED score is required for admission.

Q:   What rank is required to get admission in IIT Bombay?

A: 

Firstly, candidates need to secure a rank in nearly the top 2,00,000 (including all categories) students in JEE Main. Only these students get a chance to sit for JEE Advanced and become eligible for admission to IITs. In the JoSAA Counselling 2024, BTech CSE closing rank was 68, followed by Electrical Engineering at 496 and was the lowest for BTech Metallurgical Engineering and Material Sciences at 4193. Q:   Is it compulsory to stay in hostel in IIT Bombay?

A: 

No, it’s not compulsory for regular scholars to stay in the hostel for studying at IIT Bombay. Also, not every student gets a hostel facility. However, students who get enrolled in summer and winter internships have to stay in a hostel during the tenure of their internship. Interns who get the hostel are required to complete the formalities such as registration, payment of internship fees, etc., with the academic office of the institute.

Hello Mr Ravindra, I am afraid, you are ineligible for this dual degree program. It is open to the students having done graduation in either mathematics or statistics only.
