Placements: Every year in IIT Delhi, the percentage of placements is the same. I think at least 400 companies visited the campus including Google, Microsoft, Volkswagen, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Honda, etc. The placement offers were made on at least 659 profiles out of which 345 profiles were used, thus contributing to a whopping number of around 900 placements. The maximum placement got in information technology around 190. The highest salary was bagged by a B.Tech student and it was around 47 lacs and was 5...
Placements: We have a training and placement cell for managing all the placements and interviews related work. It works efficiently for 3rd year, pre-final and final year students. I have seen many of my seniors getting jobs and internships via T&P. Both kinds of jobs such as core as well as non-core are available from the institute. The students accept jobs as per their interests and skills. There is a body known as EDC which works to help the start-ups from the institute.
Placements: It is common knowledge that placements in IITs are great. IIT0Delhi, in fact, has better placements than most other IITs. The great location and proximity to the airport enable easy access for companies as well ( the location is a hindering issue for placements in IIT-KGP and IIT-K). Most of the students get jobs on the campus. The highest packages in India are over 35 LPA while the average stands at around 9-10 LPA. People do get overseas offers of 1-1.5 crores but that is the case for very few...
Placements: The placements were quite good of our senior batch but not as per the general trend. They were less as compared to previous years may be because of demonetisation or other reasons. More than 60% of the students got placed. The highest salary was around 50 lacs PA, the lowest was 9 Lacs PA and the average salary being 15 lacs p.a. Several companies visited the campus like Texas Instruments, Quallcom, Goldman Sachs, Samsung South Korea, Samsung Bengaluru, Samsung Delhi, Capital One, Citibank, ITC,...
Placements: The dedicated training and placement cell helps keep options in plenty for students. Top companies of various domains visit the campus. Known for 100 percent internship and placement records year after year, IIT Delhi is one of the best among older IITs. The highest package runs in crores. Apart from packages, the opportunity to work with leading industry giants of this time is the most important thing.
Placements: The placements from our branch are mostly in non-core sectors. Generally, our branch has around 70% of the students getting jobs through campus placements. Companies that visit IIT Delhi are Mckinsey, Hindustan Unilever Limited, GlaxoSmithKline, Cipla, etc. The companies belong to the finance sector, consultancy sector, management sector and biotechnology sectors. Our branch has a unique approach in training a student for biotechnology, biochemical engineering, and bioinformatics professions at ...
Placements: I will tell about the latest placement season which was held during the effect of demonetization. This time we saw a decreased number of recruiters as compared to the previous year, and as usual, most of our seniors joined non-core firms, and the rest went for further studies. In our department, people generally get research internship abroad or in our college itself. The stipend covers the cost of travel and stay, but no in hand money is granted in most of the cases. ...
Placements: As per a recent survey, it was found that there was a significant drop in placements in IITs but in IIT-Delhi, the percentage of placements was almost the same. As per my knowledge, about 429 companies visited this year. The placement offers were made on a total of 595 profiles out of which 234 profiles were used thus contributing a whopping number of around 805 placements. The maximum number of job profiles was captured by the IT(information technology) sector thus comprising a whopping number o...
Placements: Regarding internships, around 60% people get internships from the college with the highest stipend around 1 lakh for 2 months and the stipend may be zero too. The job profile is diverse. You get projects related to core mechanical, finance, consultation, etc. In jobs, more than 70% students get placed. The average salary is around 10 lakh per annum. The highest package is not branch dependent as this time one got 70 lakh per anum but in the coding background. The salary may be as low as 2-3 lakh...
Placements: The placement was great for my batch and in fact better than our senior batch. The highest salary offered was 90 lacs per year by Samsung, south Korea. I don't know about lowest but it might be somewhere around 5 LPA. Tech giants like Google, Samsung, Microsoft, etc come almost every year. There were a lot of startups too, like Housing, Olacabs, etc. Most students went to the software developer, business developer, and operations profile. More than 70% people got an internship from the college....
Placements: We have to remember the fact that not all students opt for placements. Those who do, around 80% of them are placed but many of them leave their placement job for something else like IIMs, civil services because of the dissatisfaction with the nature of the job. The highest salary in my department (core) offered is around 20 lakhs(FMCG companies), lowest is around 5.5 lakhs and the average is around 8 lakhs. Non-core jobs(management, consultancy, finance) give a higher package (highest~30 lakhs, ...
Placements: I am a computer science student and for seniors of our branch the placement was really good. Everyone got more than 10 packages. The software companies visited the college are Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Adobe, Amazon, Cisco, Oracle, Walmart, Works Application, Qualcomm, etc.
Placements: It’s one of the best technological institutes in the country, of course, it is bound to have fantastic placements. Some of the top companies in the world visit IITD, and offer higher salaries than most other engineers across India can only dream of. The average salary is about Rs. 7 lacs, and the highest salary offered could even be three times that, which is just frankly bonkers if you ask us.
Placements: I graduated in 2011 and the placements for my senior batch and my batch were good in terms that 70-80% of the batch did get placed. The placement period ran from December to April in both years as is the normal trend. There was not much flow of start-ups then but few were definitely seen hiring from campus. The salary varied from 3 lakhs per annum to 30 lakhs per annum. I am obviously not factoring in stocks given to employees and joining bonus in the package as these do not reflect the true pic...
Placements: There are very good placements of seniors and batchmates. However, most of the jobs are in management domains and not the technology domain. I did not sit for placements, though. The highest package was close to 70 lacs and on an average, students got about 15 lacs (all per annum). Also, many students went for higher studies which is a very good thing but there should be more such students.
Placements: Companies from nearly every domain come to recruit on campus, be it finance, FMCG, consulting, analytics, software development, etc. The packages vary depending on the posting being international or national. For an international one can expect to get around 1 crores (in INR) while, for domestic the highest offers normally are around 40-50 lacs p.a. while the average hovers somewhere around 10-12 lacs. All roles, are entry level roles but companies do give IIT tag great value and you would norma...
Placements: his year, the placement in IIT-D is not at all good. Only 30 percent of the students who sit for the placement are placed. The highest offered is 35 LPA and lowest is 6 LPA. Average is around 12 LPA, this year. Most of the famous companies visited the campus. The roles offered was of junior analyst, fresher engineer and many more. The internship scenario is quite better as compared to the placements. The highest stipend offered till now is 1 LPA per month and the lowest stipend offered till now ...
Placements: The placements were modest. The training and placement cell pitches for a wide variety of companies from research institutions, PSUs, banks, consultancies, MNCs etc which offer attractive packages to the students in both placements and internships. This year, we saw aggressive hiring from a large number of corporate firms with packages averaging 8 lakhs across the branches, and almost 90 percent of the students were placed by the end of the season. In the internships too, most of the students we...
Placements: In this department, the placements are not so good. Core companies hardly come for placements. And placements for non-core companies is very competitive for this department. This year only one person got placed in core company with a package of around 12 LPA. Others went for non-core jobs including ICICI Bank, EXL and other consulting and financial firms but many are still unplaced. Overall placements also saw a dip than last year as companies this time didn't take many candidates. As far as int...
Placements: Placement is a big issue, as textile branch student doesn't get any core jobs (they even don't like to go). CGPA is also a big issue here as if your CGPA is less than 7 you cannot hold any post of responsibility in the college so your CV would not look good. Student do get placement offers from finance sector but they don’t get satisfactory jobs. So, many students are now preparing for IIM and IAS exams.
