Really good infrastructure and faculty

Placements: Good placements for 2016 batch. However, due to the current market situation this year, there was relatively less hiring. But overall anyone who prepared for them decently got through it. Almost everyone gets through the internship program which used to be mandatory for everyone till 2016.

One of the best colleges to have a better future.

Placements: The placement session of IIT-Delhi begins after the 7th semester from 1st December. Most of the students who sit for the placements get placed during placement session. IIT-Delhi allows companies which offer a package of minimum 4.5 lakhs per annum. Companies like consulting firms, financing and management firms, start-ups, I-T firms and core companies of each branch come to offer a job to the students. The IT firms also offer jobs to the students who are not from the computer science department...

IIT-Delhi - a great place to be.

Placements: I was not placed at any company. I applied only in banks and other established companies and not in any start-ups. 2015 saw a bumper placement as FDI came to India but during 2016, startups failed due to cash crunch.

IIT Delhi - The best you can get

Placements: Placements were good as always with 100% placements, but the highest and lowest salaries were not disclosed by the placement cell of IIT. Companies like Snapdeal, Bidgley, Microsoft, and Goldman Sachs visited the campus. Internships were also offered to almost all the students of the department. I have heard of a stipend of 2 lacs per month, which was the highest here.

A place to learn: IIT-Delhi.

Placements: The placements session is really tough as we have to do courses and write exams along with attending the placements. Approximately 80% of the students get jobs each year and the rest 20% go for IAS and IES preparations. All type of companies come in IIT-Delhi like from the consulting, banking, startups, teaching and the core fields according to each individual branch.

The best engineering institute in the country.

Placements: The placements are mostly good. For the last year placement for engineering physics, 33 students out of the 37 registered students were placed. The average package offered ranges from 8 to 11 lakhs per annum. If we consider IIT Delhi as a whole, the average package will be around 10-12 lakhs per annum in India. The CS students do get higher packages and many are placed internationally as well.

Memorable journey worth experiencing. Teaches many lessons of life

Placements: 2014 was a slow placement season. However, the placement was overall good. Most of the companies were offering consultants, analytics or software profiles. The technical companies had less visibility in the overall placements. The highest packages were offered by companies like Xerox and Worldquant with around 40 lakhs (apart from Facebook buzz). The lowest was nearly 5.5 lakhs. The average stipend offered was around 8.5 lakhs. The internship was a mandatory part of the curriculum and all the s...

The college is very good. Good infrastructure but poor hostels and mess facilities.

Placements: Although I don't know much, but the placements in my branch are below average. The internships in mechanical are also hard to get. The percentage of placements is good for my branch but there are very fewer placements which stand out. The stipend is usually not that good in the mechanical department.

Best for the overall development of a person.

Placements: Placement is really good here. about 90 percent of the people who want jobs are placed somewhere. The highest is at around 1.8 crores, average at 26 lakhs and the lowest is at 8 lakhs. Around 150 companies visit every year. It's hard to name them all but major companies are Google, Facebook, IBM etc. A practical approach and a very planned schedule are taken on students. Internship percentage is about 70 percent of those who apply. The highest was 80 lakhs, the average may be around 2 lakhs an...

Really good infrastructure.

Placements: The placement scenario is too good here for almost all the departments. Around 80-90 percent of the students get placed every year out of the applied ones. The highest salary offered in non-core and IT sector is around 30 lakhs and the lowest one is around 10 lakhs. For the non-core and non-IT sectors, the highest is 26 lakhs and lowest is 6 lakhs. For core jobs, the highest offered in my department is 20 lakhs and the lowest is 7 lakhs. The companies that visited the campus in the past years ...

Placements: Placements at IITs are never under the scanner. We have finance companies like Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank Group, Capitol One, World Quant, consulting firms like Mckinsey, Bain, BCG, AT Kearney, coding firms like Microsoft, Google and startups like Flipkart, Grofers coming to recruit students from different backgrounds. Placements are not linked with your department since most of them are non core. Average package is about 14 lakhs per annum, highest being 1.2 crores but in the US and South Kor...

Living up to its name : IIT-Delhi.

Placements: IIT-Delhi offers modest placements to its students with an average package of around 8.5 lakh per annum [median figure in 2014-15]. As far as chemical engineering is concerned, 53 out of 62 registered students were placed in the 2014-15 session of placements. I am in my 3rd year and internships are being offered to my class. Most of our class has already been offered an internship in core [ ITC, HUL, Dr.Reddy, Schlumberger] and non-core [ AmEx, Nomura, P&G, Goldman Sachs] companies with well sui...

Placements: Regarding internship for electrical engineering and power, approximately 50% of the students have got the internship this year. Many of the top recruiters have taken the students from electrical and power like Goldman Sachs, ITC, Citi, PWC, Samsung and Texas. Regarding placements, almost everyone gets it in electrical because they not only get electrical roles but also financing roles as well which involve coding and mathematics. For power stream, mostly students get coding or finance jobs but s...

Placements: The placements were excellent with almost all the students getting placed with the highest package of about a crore but for US-based roles. The average package is competitive and on the higher side of what one can get for India-based roles, and the lowest can go to a little less but a decent package. All the software giants and finance and consulting companies come here, be it Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Visa, IBM or Goldman Sachs, Tower Research and McKinsey and a lot more hire from the c...

It is one of the best colleges if you are choosing your college in terms of ROI. It has some of the specialised courses like masters in telecom, etc. Situated in the heart of Delhi makes life very easy for students. Small batch size is the USP of this college. The faculty is also very helpful and supportive. So, if you are planning to do your MBA from Delhi/NCR, IIT Delhi is the best option.

Case study method of teaching really lets students understand the core of the subject and clear application helps them to implement the theoretical part in the practical life.
